Just after some help to decide on what colour door knobs for our new kitchen, part of a newly created open plan kitchen/living space. We are wanting a very contemporary style & to introduce warmer colours to the kitchen area in particular to offset the plain porcelain kitchen cabinets. The quartz as you can hopefully see has golden tones with a faint grey in there too. Ive attached a photo of proposed pendant lights too & the bar stools will likely be similar to per photo to add warmth. The floor is going to be a light brushed oak. We are having a brushed steel Quooker tap set into a white composite sink on a large island 2200m x 900. The oven, hob & microwave will be predominantly black with maybe some brushed steel. Ive attached a photo of the kitchen room but please note this is not the cabinet colour & the splash back will be quartz & not the wood effect as shown. The doors are anthracite sliding with 3 doors not white as shown here. Please ignore the rest of the room at that was just for illustration purposes. Many thanks in anticipation!
I would go for brushed brass. That would pick up the golden tones in your worksurface. Ironmongery Direct is very affordable and used to offer really good service. If you want to spend more on something exceptional then Buster + Punch is the dream. These are beautiful and they have an affordable selection.
Hi Tracy! Your kitchen sounds like it’s coming together beautifully, and I love the idea of adding warmth to balance the contemporary feel.
Given the mix of anthracite doors, brushed steel, golden tones in the quartz, and warm oak flooring, here are a few ideas for door knobs that would complement the space:
Brushed Brass or Antique Brass: Brass tones would pick up the warm gold accents in the quartz and add a subtle contrast to the anthracite doors and porcelain cabinets. Brass also pairs beautifully with brushed oak, enhancing the warmth you’re looking to introduce.
Brushed or Satin Black: Black knobs would match your oven and other appliances, creating a cohesive, sleek look. This would maintain a contemporary feel while allowing the quartz and oak flooring to stand out as the warm accents.
Brushed Steel: If you’d prefer a more subtle look, brushed steel would echo the Quooker tap and bring a sophisticated, understated continuity to the fixtures. This option is clean, timeless, and ensures a seamless modern style.
Each of these finishes would add a unique touch, but if warmth is a priority, brass is likely your best choice. Good luck, and hope this helps!
