I really like what you've done so far but you're right, the furniture doesn't really suit it anymore. I'm in a similar situation as have decorated my lounge but also feel my couch needs changing. maybe you could dress your table with a white table cloth and runner with a pretty centrepiece to tone down the wood. Maybe some white wooden chairs? You could probably buy some off eBay or something and up cycle them until your budget allows you to replace them with something fancier. curtain wise I would look for a plain pattern closely matched to the wall colour...but then I quite like it when curtains blend with the the walls. Why don't you start putting together an ideabook on houzz, save all the pictures you like and annotate what in particular you like about each one as it will help you (and others) in terms of decor and then you can make a design that you work towards over time. If you're getting rid of the fire then I would probably hang the tv on the chimney breast to save space. There are lots of ways to make sure it doesn't become the focal point. As a short term solution though will the tv fit on the wooden stand in the alcove? Will the velvet sofa also fit in room 1? If so, what way does the room face in terms of paint colour? Longer term maybe you could build out the cupboard and chimney slightly so as to recess the tv and cover the pipes? For room 2 personally I'd use this for dining. Can you have a banquette seat and pedestal table on the wall where the buggy is? Is there room for your daughters big toys to go elsewhere or not? I'm just wondering if you could use this as combined dining and play? (You also get a comfier seat with the banquette as presumably she's not old enough to play on her own). Rugs, lamps, textures, plants etc will all make it feel more homely. Maybe if you give an initial budget for stage 1 people can give ideas?

I think I'd be a bit nervous of a light fabric sofa with a child/ren. Are you able to take more pics with the blind open as it's quite difficult to tell the carpet and wall colour but you could potentially consider aubergine for the sofa (brownish purple rather than blue)? I think it might work well with the carpet and then rather than yellow look at ochre for an accent with maybe a little blush? If so, will have a look for some things. Are you happy with the layout? Do you want another corner sofa or do you want a sofa and a chair? I don't mind the clock too much but it's in the wrong place, if you remove it, will the walls be damaged?

I want to have no lawn garden due to having 2 dogs. I was starting my garden ages ago but tried to finish off house things first I need garden design help I like my raised bed the hut will be replaced and moved to other side as I don’t want to be sitting looking into bins they will go behind a trellis I screen . Kinda like 3 diff areas but though about raised beds at the side. Now I’m confused I will be doing this myself on a tight budget buying things when I can Dug up so much like a swamp with the dogs not very nice Any help drawings anything would be appreciated I was going to try garden designers but the cost just can’t do it. I have 20 reclaimed slabs lying as well. I do also think painting the paving at my back door light grey to make colour mor uniform. Thanks in advance.
