Far more information needed to choose a paint colour I'm afraid. Why not wait until it is installed and the flooring down before deciding as factors like natural light and other items of furniture all play a part. You don't want to paint it and then change your mind. I also hate dark colours for the kitchen walls although navy or black units can look stunning in the right property.

Do you mean the cabinet colour or walls? If cabinet colour are you restricted to manufacturer? What way does the room face? Worktop details etc also needed

Sorry, my initial message wasn’t clear. So the whole house including the kitchen is Egyptian cotton. The flooring is the robust grey oak herringbone but our contractor has said they will install the kitchen first and then the flooring. I’m just not sure what colour cabinets to go for.

Given the whole house is one colour, it sounds like neutral is a safer bet?

Maybe off white and green for the island paired with a heavily veined marble?

i also like the zellige tiles in the 2nd pic which would pick up the pinky tones in your floor

I would definitely go neutral as I think the current popular trend for dark blue, black and green will pass. It depends how often you like to update your kitchen. I also think with dark colours that if your natural light isn't great then it can be cave like (speaking from personal experience). Light and bright suits our climate better as winters can be very gloomy.
