Any recommendations for decent quality bed frames?

Hello!
A couple of years ago, I invested in a decent mattress, which I'm very happy with. Until now, I have just used a standard bed base. There is nothing exactly wrong with it, it's just a typical cheaper made, mass-produced type, and I'd really like to replace it. Does anybody have any recommendations for a decent quality, preferably UK/EU made bed frame, that's durable and well made, but that's realistically priced? It's often very hard to tell from online pictures and websites, I'd love to hear from anybody that's had a good experience or knows of something along these lines! Thank you all very much.

I’ve heard good things about Hypnos beds. Made in the U.K. I’ve not had one, but seriously looking at getting one of their mattresses.

What kind of style are you looking for? I’m ogling over ones from the Cornish Bed Company - they’re apparently the last handcast metal frame company in the UK. Not cheap, but I think they would last a lifetime. There’s also The Original Bed Company - similar traditional iron beds but cheaper than Cornish.

if you are planning to paint later I would remove the wallpaper fix the walls then prime with a high quality primer and leave them as is until you are ready to paint the primer will have a slight sheen and will work as a top coat finish

@Laura took the words right from underneath my fingers. I was going to ask the depth and width of the area where the shelves currently are. I've just had a PAX installed and I LOVE IT. My configuration is Two sets of 2 x 100cm wide (236cm H) units with the Harvik doors. I had them shortened as my ceiling didn't allow for the full height hence why I picked the easily hackable Harvik. The easy option is 4 x 75cm units with sliding doors of course. In one of my units, the inside was wallpapered and has a standard shelf which my monitor rests on and a pull out shelf directly below it that I use as a desk. I even have power in there so the cables are neat. the Pax really are an outstanding solution. A word of advice though to avoid extra expense and wasted time, especially if you are having someone install them; check them as soon as they arrive as the units can be damaged Good luck and pictures please :)

Try http://www.handmadekitchens-direct.co.uk - our kitchen was installed when we bought the house but I know from some paperwork left by the previous owners that this is where it came from. From what I can gather the previous owner painted the kitchen herself too to save some money. It's a very good quality kitchen that has stood the test of time and 3 children! IKEA's beds are longer than standard size so good for taller folks. I had a metal framed single IKEA bed through most of uni and I'm 5'10. We have the Fryesdal daybed which we mainly use as a sofa and pull out into a bed for family movie nights. It's very sturdy and quite comfy.
