I can see what you are hoping to achieve. Would you want the dining area or the kitchen closer to the garden? Kitchen designers place units and appliances in a space. They are not architects or interior designers. Sort your layout first possibly with the help of an architect. You might also need a structural designer and a buillder should be able to quote to remove walls. Are you planning any sort of extension to the side? The main items in the kitchen that require planning are the sink position and power supply. Make a scale drawing of the space, a sketch is fine and then think how you want to use the space. Also what type of kitchen do you prefer as in full height units, base units only, wall mounted oven vs range cooker, where would the fridge go and if you would need a water supply for an icemaker etc. It's an interesting project, To give you some basics to get started most kitchen units are at least 600mm deep, the same for appliances. Worksurface height is usually 900mm or around there. Consider doors or drawers and remember to allow space to open fridges, freezers, dishwashers, ovens etc. A kitchen designer can help you once you have the basic shape confirmed.

Oh Isla, this is so helpful Thankyou! I feel like the dining area by the garden would get used less but these are the elements I’m not sure. Thinking I couldn’t afford the side extension but would like to draw out both possibilities. So I can have a go at drawing a few examples out perhaps, with the measurements you’ve given…so then if I have the basic shape, it’s an architect / builder for costs and then a kitchen designer. Everything is done remotely, you just need to provide accurate measurements. i’ve used her myself and then recommended to a friend who has since used her more than once. karen’s fees really aren’t expensive either (understatement!) and it’s about designing a space that works for you personally rather than a kitchen shed maximising the amount of cabinets sold. Karen will also give you a few options for layout.. Look at the reviews though. You can obviously ring her to talk through the exact process before engagement.

if that’s not an option there are a lot of independent kitchen places that offer (good) design rather than the sheds and can likely work alongside an architect etc

I do think Karen could be right for you. i didn't actually go ahead with the kitchen which is another story (she doesn’t just do kitchens btw) but i was looking to buy a shaker kitchen from DIY Kitchens (not sure if you’ve heard of them but also great reviews and the cabinets arrive built so cut down on fitting costs). Anyway Karen also provided a detailed shopping list as they don't offer design so you don’t really need to do anything.
