Bedrooms Bathrooms Design Dilemma

Knocking two bedrooms into one master

Appreciate any tips or experience of knocking two bedrooms into one big master. Plan to be there long term so resale not a factor. Would making the smaller bedroom into an en suite be too big? Any other ideas?
I liked the look of wardrobes across the wall that splits them with hidden door into bathroom

Is bedroom 5 next to a bathroom for plumbing? I converted my smallest bedroom into a dressing room.

Can you move the entrance door if you want wardrobes on that wall?

Good point re plumbing. Is there a larger bedroom as that’s bed 2?

Hi Just to update I have had a bathrooms designer out today who really knew what he was talking about and has said the architect is wrong and we could have the ensuite in the study, which is where we wanted it all along! There is more wall space in the 2nd bedroom so it would make more sense if we built a door through from that room and made that the main bedroom. It will still entail putting in a new soil pipe on the side wall and digging up part of the drive to put in an inspection chamber ( not sure of the correct word), but the joists run in the correct direction and are deep enough to go from the study to the outside wall. He thought the ensuite in the current bedroom would impact the room. The 2nd designer thought we could put the ensuite in the main bedroom, but have the doorway on a slant so it wouldn't impact so much? I'm going to get a 3rd quote/opinion and go from there, but feeling more positive today. Jonathan - hadn't realised you meant knocking into the other room, sorry. Thank you both for taking the time to reply. Unfortunately funds don't allow us to knock the understairs storage through and we also use that to its full capacity as it it. A project for the future perhaps! What we really need is hanging space and storage space that we can access everyday for our clothes. Wow! Thank you everyone. I am certainly impressed by the potential you’re finding. We didn’t think our little bungalow had it in it! We currently use the conservatory/existing extension as a utility room so seeing that we could still squeeze in a utility in the new floor plan is very appealing. We definitely need to discuss priorities as I think some of these amazing ideas may be beyond our budget when we factor in a dorma and loft conversion to get the much needed third bedroom. Great to see different ideas on the space though and makes us all the more keen to improve the space we have rather than moving house. Thank you for your help.

It is next to a bathroom for plumbing. Bed1 in loft but not really suitable as a master

If you close off bedroom 5 door and split this room into a shower room with window, and pocket door to a walk through dressing room, wardrobes either side by creating a door from bedroom 2.

Place bed on the wardrobe wall once bedroom wardrobe removed,

tv opposite and you might be able to fit a sofa under the window.

Great ideas both. Struggling with how big the en suite needs to be. Love the walk in wardrobe @katlucy. But will 7'x6' be big enough...

If you move bed 2 door over to the right, you could extend the dressing area over by 2 foot (60cm) and have a 2’ larger ensuite

Hi,

A nice size en suite is always a good idea for easy mornings.

This is my starting idea - good size bathroom behind pocket door.

The idea to have wardrobe split like this might seem odd but I think it could work well with a good execution and right interior design concept.

Here is more usual layout creating a lot of symmetry when you're in bed.

And if you don't require that much wardrobe space a cute curved sofa in the corner might be what you're after.

What do you think?

I almost agree with katlucy design but exchange the toilet with the sink placement, if the door opened it wont be as good
