Hi Mike, it looks like your neighbours have achieved what may have been the original look by breaking up the large area windows with top lights (that perhaps have leaded squares?) If this appeals, I would suggest Residence Collection R9 windows, which achieve a fantastic authentic timber appearance, but offer all the advantages of modern, almost maintenance free efficient uPVC windows. The example shows a bay window, but will give a good idea of the look) If you don't like the look of leaded squares in the toplights, perhaps a single astragal bar addition or some georgian bars would help break up the look? (Sorry the example is a bay again) As Christine pointed out, the various sizes of window your property has will make it difficult to achieve a uniform look across all the windows, but careful measuring and designing will be able to put some symmetry into the result. Newcastle Under Lyme is a bit far for our installers as we are primarily based in the South East but you can find a local Residence Collection installer here. If uPVC is not your bag, then perhaps you may consider aluminium windows? The extra strength allows for finer sightlines which will help let in more light. This lovely example has large leaded squares on a very complimentary anthracite grey, but you can get them powder coated in any colour - including white . 😂 You're welcome I'm just putting your ideas together in one place! I used the walnut table but as I said before I think it may need a rug against the dark floor but see what you think. The rug size may be do'able (8x10), you would need to tape it out when you're in the house so it doesn't encroach on the bar stool area. I have zero photoshop skills so just chose a rug I could edit in but just to give you an idea (Although obviously the table is the wrong way round!). Maybe have the clock over the table to zone it and bounce some light and some marble and brass shelves would look great by the breakfast bar?

I think I’d layer the bed a bit more as it tends to add a lux feel. Maybe some velvet will add lux to the rustic/industrial look? Not sure what you think of this striped velvet cushion? You could also add a pendant light ( a bit further down the bed than shown). It would needto be something something like feather, paper, rattan, velvet etc though in case you bang your head! A rug may also be nice but I’d pick one in the same tone as the floor. The contrast with the rug and floor in the last pic makes the room feel narrower?

Is the roof glass like shown on the images? If so, before you do your kitchen here, I would try and talk to someone who has done this. I have a client I am currently working with for their layout. They came to use because the previous owners did exactly what you are suggesting and it was unbearable to be in there in the hotter months/days. The owners did the work then sold it because they didn't like it in the end, and the new owners are now paying me to rip it out and put it back in the existing covered part of the house with the dining room in the glass area, with storage and play area. It's definitely worth looking at before you go ahead with something so major and costly. I think as @Jonathan suggested, I would try and open the space up further, even if it means waiting a little longer for it :) ...best to get it right the first time. Best, Gina
