jn267, on the "no TV" question: I haven't had one since the mid-'80s and rarely watched it then. News came from radio and in print. Now I get it online, but I still select articles and avoid videos. I've always preferred music over extraneous "talking noise" at home and have never used TV as background, as many of my friends seem to do. The fact that I'm the world's worst multi-tasker may have something to do with it, but I don't think I do anything more interesting than anyone else does.

Yes, “The Frame“ has only just been launched in the UK! I believe that TV cosmetics will improve over the next two years. With the thin frames and improved lightness of the latest TV‘s, there is greater ease of fitting custom frames around them. Many TV manufacturers are now also offering beautiful screensavers and if not, it‘s easy to add an AppleTV or another Streaming device to display images on the screen. The icing on the cake is a mirror TV and over the past three years we have perfected the process of bonding a special mirror glass directly onto the leading brands of TV‘s at about 60% of the cost of dedicated MirrorTVs. The advantage of this approach is that we can use the most current and advanced model of TV‘s, whilst the dedicated MirrorTV typically lags behind, using year old+ models.

Hi Yvona I think the 3rd option works best. However, I would suggest that you consider the following. 1 the gap between the kitchen units and island, this could be reduce to give you move living room space. 2 a larger combined bathroom & shower with a wc under the stair. This option will reduce your storage space, but give you a nice bathroom. You could also introduce an additional door access into the middle bedroom too. 3 option to introduce one large bifold and one door to the external garden wall. Hope these helps Regards

I’ve disliked the black tv for decades, and wondered why the frame was usually black. We did have a white Sony tv in the 80s, though the off screen was still black... My solution was to make a felt ‘painting’, on a wooden rod, and drape it over the tv when off at the mains. I also painted a piece of paper to do the same. As I always turn the tv off at the mains when it’s not being watched, it’s perfectly safe. They’re still very ugly items, but maybe one day they’ll simply be a small gadget projecting the picture onto a wall space.
