Have you considered a venting hob instead of an overhead hood? I’m just thinking about the direction the steam and cooking fats will be drawn.

A venting hob extracts everything downwards at source, whereas a hood pulls it upwards — which could potentially result in the nearby window getting greasy or marked more frequently after cooking.

Hi thqnks for therepl the window is 500-600 distance away , also with the indian cooking venting hob will not be as strong as overhead hood i am guessing

You can also add an external motor to increase the power but without increasing the internal noise. Look at brands that specialise in extractors such as Pando and Falmec.

As you're planning on having a domino gas hob infront of a window [opening?], has anyone spoken to a Gas Safe registered fitter to see if thats allowed?

hi, yes has been approved by a gas safe registered fitter. as the window is away and is not openable ,it is perfectly safe to install a gas hob thank you
