What an amazing property! You are very lucky. Pray tell, will you be keeping the pool? Jonathan has a good idea but I think if you are worried about moving walls then maybe just replace and update all the fixtures and fittings and then see how you feel. Even a coat of paint can make a massive difference. In the ensuite, it's hard to tell the layout from your photos but you could definitely get rid of the bidet. Having the bidet's plumbing and waste should give you more flexibility if you want to change the bathroom layout too. Keep us posted, this is a really interesting house!

Hi, will you be renting the place out for holidays? If so I would put in the wardrobe. Our last holiday we stayed in a holiday cottage and one of the bedrooms had a chest of drawers only and it was so annoying! I had nowhere to hang dresses. If people are paying to stay there I think they would prefer a wardrobe. However if it’s just for you and the odd guest you could get by with a chest of drawers if there is other storage.

Thank you very much for your lovely comments annabellaamy :) At some point I wanted to buy a new desk but then dropped the idea as it kind of worked. What I had in mind to buy was a ladder desk in order to have the storage along with the desk without this being bulky or drilling any holes in the walls. Bedside lamps is certainly something to consider for sure. If I keep both items at the side of the bed then it's certainly something to consider. I am sure something good will be found. As for shade, I guess you mean the light of the room right? That would be amazing if i could do it. Unfortunately though I only have spotlights so nothing can be hang to make it more homely. The bed does have room beneath it and guess what? It is already full with storage! hehehehe Thank you very very much for your help and inspiration. It does really help!! We will play around with the construction of the room during the weekend with my partner and will see what works and what doesn't. I will update you here with new photos of the room if we manage the reconstruction :)

Thank you @Kate for your comment. You're right, a 3 bedroom apartment with only 1 bathroom may not be a very good idea... if we want to sell the property in the future. It's a family neighbourhood, and most 3 bed apartments/houses have 2 bathrooms. So that's an element to consider. Perhaps having 2 bathrooms (with one that would be very compact), and a kitchen a little bit smaller. I don't know. In terms of storage space, I suppose it could be possible to have built-in storage in each bedroom, but perhaps we would also need some storage space in the entrance. Would it be enough? Currently, it feels like the 'dressing/en-suite' and the storage space in the entrance are too big anyway... We don't have three kids, so perhaps that is why it feels that way! Difficult to know how much storage is needed.
