Kitchen layout advise please - final decisions????
Comments (13)I would lose the wooden counter top and pull out larder. Put the hob next door but one to the sink with an extractor above. This will break up the run of wall units. Also think about when you are cooking pasta, filling up a saucepan with water and then draining it. You don't need to cross the room. Where you going to put bin, dishwasher and microwave? I would agree you need more drawers. I love my new pan drawers they hold alot. But my pull out larder does not and things fall down the back all the time. Also when you are taking something out of the oven, where are you going to put it? I never understand why designers put oven and fridges next to one another....See MoreWhat would do with this empty kitchen corner?
Comments (13)Have you thought about adding a window seat as the window is quite big and low. It would be lovely to sit there when its raining or sunny and curl up with a book. Its definitely a feature you could leverage and make it into a cute little reading nook. I agree with one of the comments above to remove both radiators and replace the one to the left with something more modern and longer. On the right hand wall I would add some pictures and a narrow bookshelf on the smaller wall. Or if you want to take it one step further is to get a Joiner build a window seat with some shelves on the right wall, because the wall is angled it might be tricky to get an off the market shelf to fit there....See MoreKitchen corner cabinets
Comments (8)If you want to change the carousel and have the doors hinged on the carcase you'll also have to add rails under the worktop and either a new bottom shelf or more rails, this is so the doors have something to stop against. At present the exisiting cabinet is bigger than the doors so the doors can fit inside and you don't want this if you want to hinge the doors. For the door hinging if you want to have the doors to bifold like the picture from Sarah L then you will need 2x 170 degree hinges and back plates to hinge the doors on the carcase, then the bi fold hinges and back plates to join the 2 doors together. I see that you also have long bar handles on the drawers so you don't want to hinge the door on that side as the door will get damaged by the drawer handles when its opened....See MoreBlank corner space in 4 level split kitchen
Comments (2)You could easily add a kitchen trolley there and shift any counter appliances on to it, like your microwave, coffee maker etc. IKEA makes one called Forhoja that looks like it would fit nicely. You could stain it to blend in with your existing lower cabinets....See More- 11 days ago
