My front door had clear glass windows and you could see most of my house looking in as it's open plan and door in the middle, I used the frosted, decorative window film and it's amazing what a difference it's made! It still lets the light in but gives privacy!

I hadn't initially spotted the trunk, it looks quite slim and should hopefully work in that you can move around it plus it brings furniture into the middle of the room. In terms of the sofa my first choice would be green if you want a colour rather than a neutral and it looks as if you like that colour anyway! I think a chair could possibly work either to the left or right of the fire. It's hard when you have furniture in a room but cutting out paper templates of everything or using cardboard boxes always works. At least the tv isn't taking up room :) good luck in whatever you do, it really is a lovely room

Do they have to be tilt and turn windows? My mum had them in her house. The frames need to be wide to house the mechanism. I prefer casement windows.

I was going to say if you used the top green colour on the whole door but had the surround an off-white/neutral then that would give a splash of colour without being too much, but seeing the pictures I think that green is too bright for everything else inside - it looks more turquoise in some pics. How about a mustard colour (from the rug) which works well with the yellow stained glass? Just for the door though, not the whole surround too. Something like this, but probably a darker/golder version of yellow. Or a less vivid green - samples will be required to find the one that is bright enough that it brings you joy, but not garish. Your door reminds me of this pic from Crown Paints - the colours are similar but theirs work better (esp with the darker more neutral blue) - and the gold stripe between the two colours brings it up a notch too. This is what I was hoping to see in the rest of your hallway!
