living room
Comments (30)Hi If you're not going to create a surround for it, it can stay where it is. I would though as AJ suggested perhaps move the socket down the wall. If you want to make a feature of it, a rethink may be needed! Unfortunately wherever you put it, it won't be central to a ŵall as you have the radiator one end and the only other place is on the sofa ŵall which I don't think you can afford to lose. If you could rehang the kitchen door so leave the accent chair where I put it you could potentially make a small corner fireplace in that top right corner (as looking at the pic). I assume it is required as it looks like you only have the one radiator for the whole room?...See MoreRectangular Living room layout help
Comments (4)Thanks Minnie and Gary. That sketch is fine. You've both suggested TV in the same place and build round that area. And that's where I was thinking of putting it too. The separate area behind the sofa adjacent to the fireplace looks inevitable, you've both suggested that. Which isn't a problem. I guess it's just too big of a room to try and make one space, everything would be too far apart. Just need to make sure I think carefully what that space will be used for so I don't waste it. Kids already have their own playroom so will be keeping it for the grownups!...See MoreLiving Room as Thoroughfare to Stairs
Comments (6)Thanks for the information, it's quite a challenge if everything you've listed has to stay in the room. I know it's costly but replacing your lounge and rocker with a corner lounge would work well. Alternatively put the rocker in a bedroom and work with your existing lounge. Position the lift chair in the tv corner, the tv, games console on the wall as you walk to the stairs and a corner lounge on the wall opposite the fireplace or under the window. Can you place furniture in front of those heaters? There would be space to walk thru to the stairs. I'll keep thinking of other options as I love a puzzle!...See MoreHelp! Living room layout
Comments (10)You could only put your sofa in the middle facing the fireplace and it would need to move back in to the room a bit due to the chaise bit. Therefore, I think it might dominate the room too much., it's hard to tell without proper dimensions. It would depend on how much room you have to walk around either end. ?? I don't think it looks right on the other wall because it looks like it's facing the wrong way....See MoreBobby
