Lisa, an interior designer, and Chuck, a developer and general contractor, were originally drawn to its large windows and beautiful sunroom, as well as its architectural charm such as crown molding, wainscoting, wood floors and interior French doors. After buying the house in 2004, they lived in it for several years before working with architect Dan Maginn of DRAW Architecture to reimagine the kitchen and landscaping and add modern function and appeal to the home. Lisa designed the coffee table seen here and Matt Castilleja fabricated the top. Lisa’s late grandparents, Will and Dorothy Freund, were both artists and painted many of the pieces that adorn the walls. The large painting to the right, titled The Nest, is by Will, as is the art piece in the corner, titled The Cube.
