I love the feel (and smell) of a house full of books. It's always inspiring seeing the many creative ways to showcase these books without the cluttered look.

I found a great deal to like in this article - particularly the round shelving and low level shelving with the sumptuous view but hiding the spines? Pl-ease! This is in the same category as people who buy art to show their money on a wall.

I agree, Vanadis! Hiding the spines! Trying to make your books featureless, and in a strange room that has a hideous "underground" wall on one side... Anyway, how much time have you got to note all the titles? Waste of good reading time!

No 2 would make me feel seasick - horizontals and verticals imply restful stability. Strong diagonals imply movement - not where you want it!

The sea view with books in the seats is fabulous, but that house is surely way beyond the buying power of ordinary mortals...

4 is really nice. 5 looks good, but how many people have sufficiently wide staircases and how do you reach all the books? There's an area on the wall above my stairs which I'd love to do something with, but I can't reach it!
