Custom solutions. Kristian and Gabriel grew up working for their father’s building company in Slovakia, and learnt a lot about the industry before moving to the UK to start their own company four years ago. “We love having the ability to transform any home according to vision of our customers,” Kristian says. “It’s like growing a baby with every single project and we are proud to see it shine once it’s finished.”
According to Kristian, their company name was inspired by the philosophy that beautiful home design is very personal… “everyone has a different idea of what looks beautiful and works beautifully for them,” he says. The team spend a lot of time understanding customers’ favourite colours, shapes, objects and also how they use the space. “We take all these ideas and make bespoke solutions for them based on what they like,” he says.

Careful planning. “In Slovakia, we use the phrase ‘Dvakrát meraj, raz rez [measure twice, cut once]’, meaning that for everything you do, you should plan for it twice as much,” says Kristian. He believes planning ahead is crucial for two main reasons. Firstly, it helps avoid big costly mistakes. “By planning carefully, you’ll be less in danger of underestimating what needs to be done and therefore underestimating the costs,” he says
Secondly, it makes the whole process smoother. “If we plan on paper first, the customer can make as many changes as they want, so when it’s finally time to start building or renovating, we don’t have to make any last-minute changes. If you change design along the way, the whole process will be jarred, the customer will be less able to visualise the design and overall it’s less efficient.”

1. Add Unimposing Storage
These days, as people accumulate more things, it’s important to incorporate a storage system at home that helps you find everything easily without taking up more space in a property than it should. “To start with, we ask clients to think about what they have to store and how they live, then we build around that,” says Kristian.
For example, the homeowner of this London Bridge property had a huge number of books to store. “He wanted to showcase his books as a design feature, but didn’t want to use too much of the living space in doing so,” Kristian says. To solve this, the team decided to add shelving to the entrance hallway, which had enough natural light to contend with a new storage system. Guests can admire the books when they enter, but the storage isn’t in the way.

2. Update Your Flooring
The floor is just as important as the walls in a room scheme, and brand-new flooring can make a huge difference to your space. Kristian recommends you always check the condition of the flooring underneath. “It’s not too expensive to replace old flooring, and then the whole thing is new. If you keep old boards underneath it may look okay, but in years to come they may be problematic,” he says.
Oak flooring with a brushed finish transforms this London Bridge bedroom and matches the furniture perfectly. “We removed all old floorboards, evened out the joist with new support, fitted new insulation in between, fitted new chipboards and we glued herringbone floorboards on top of that with a special glue,” Kristian says.

3. Create a Feature Wall
Whether you use a bold paint shade, a bright wallpaper, an eye-catching material, such as bricks or a large painting, a feature wall can transform your room without having to cost the earth. Feature walls can define zones, such as a dining area in large, open-plan scheme, or bring a simple scheme to life without breaking the bank.
In this Bermondsey bedroom, the client was looking to refresh a tired and dated scheme. “We painted a feature wall in an inky blue to make a statement behind the bed, and added a matching side table, cushions and curtains – adding one different colour made all the difference,” Kristian says.

Very useful tips for anyone thinking of refreshing and renovating their property. Love the green tiles in the bathroom, they remind me of the beautiful Mexican terra cotta tiles that are so common there.
