The network trail
Attendees at the London Build Expo span all areas of the construction industry, from contractors to architects, developers, house builders engineers, suppliers and construction professionals – so just by turning up you’ll have the opportunity to create useful connections and share knowledge.
However, there are also dedicated networking events. “This year, we have 12 networking events taking place over the two days,” London Build event director Selena Moseley explains. “In partnership with NAWIC, Building People, Let’s Build, #YesSheCan and more, these networking sessions give our visitors the chance to network with our ambassadors and fellow professionals, and to feel inspired by the diverse stories that make up one of the most exciting industries.”

Diversity and wellbeing in construction
Indeed, this year, Diversity in Construction (on 16 November) and Women in Construction and Mental Health in Construction (both on 17 November) are headline networking sessions.
“Our mission is to ensure that everyone in the industry has the opportunity to thrive,” Selena says. “Our Women in Construction networking event is now the largest annual meeting [of women in the industry] in the United Kingdom, and it continues to grow every year!”

There will also be talks on challenging stereotypes, building equality and addressing bias, plus a discussion panel with some of the industry leaders driving change in LGBTQ+.
“This year, we’re also launching our Mental Health in Construction Ambassador programme,” Selena says. “We want to get the sector talking, to change the perceptions around mental health and highlight why it’s so important to talk about it.”
Look out for the Living in The New Normal – Looking After Your Mental Health in a Post-Pandemic World talk on the Diversity & Inclusion stage.
It’s also well worth checking out the associated Ambassador programmes for each of these three areas on the London Build website.
