A Bold & Expressive Bathroom Redesign This bathroom and en-suite transformation was designed for a client with a daring and unconventional style. Our goal was to create a striking and highly personalized space that perfectly reflects her fearless design aesthetic. Statement Wallpapers & Vibrant Feature Walls The design centers around bold, eye-catching wallpapers that immediately set the tone for each space. These dynamic patterns add personality and energy, transforming the bathrooms into expressive, artful retreats. Brushed Copper Tapware for Warmth & Elegance To complement the statement walls, we selected brushed copper tapware, adding warmth and a refined touch. This combination balances boldness with sophistication, creating a visually stunning contrast. Functionality with a Personal Touch Beyond aesthetics, we ensured that both spaces were highly functional. Thoughtful storage solutions and a well-planned layout make these bathrooms not only stylish but also practical for everyday use. ON-TREND SCALES Move over metro tiles and line a wall with fabulously funky Fish Scale designs. Also known as scallop, fun or mermaid tiles, this pleasing-to-the-eye shape is a Moroccan tile classic that's trending hard right now and offers a sophisticated alternative to metro/subway designs. Mermaids tiles are this year's unicorns (so they say) and Fish Scale tiles are how to take the trend to a far more grown-up level. Especially striking across a whole wall or in a shower room, make the surface pop in vivid shades of blue and green for an oceanic vibe that'll refresh and invigorate. The client's came to us wanting a design that was going to open up their small backyard and give them somewhere for their family to enjoy and entertain for many years to come. This project presented many technical challenges due to the levels required to comply with various building regulations. Clever adaptations such privacy screens, floating deck entry and hidden pool gate behind the raised feature wall were all design elements that make this project more suitable to the smaller area. The main design feature that was a key to the functionality of this pool was the raised infinity edge, with the pool wall designed to comply with current pool barrier standards. With no pool fence between the pool and house the space appears more open with the noise of the water falling over the edge into a carefully concealed balance tank adding a very tranquil ambience to the outdoor area. With the accompanying fire pit and sitting area, this space not only looks amazing but is functional all year round and the low maintenance fully automated pool cleaning system provides easy operation and maintenance.

A Bathroom refitted in a small width bathroom in Royal Leamington Spa. A shower bath would not fit so we fitted a 75cm wide bath. The basin and toilet are a L shaped vanity basin and toilet. The radiator was replaced with this Anthracite grey towel warmer. The bathroom wall tiles are British ceramic Serpentine wall tile and the floor and feature wall are Starlight Quartz Grey.

DESIGN BRIEF “A family home to be lived in not just looked at” placed functionality as main priority in the extensive renovation of this coastal holiday home. Existing layout featured: – Inadequate bench space in the cooking zone – An impractical and overly large walk in pantry – Torturous angles in the design of the house made work zones cramped with a frenetic aesthetic at odds with the linear skylights creating disharmony and an unbalanced feel to the entire space. – Unappealing seating zones, not utilising the amazing view or north face space WISH LIST – Comfortable retreat for two people and extend family, with space for multiple cooks to work in the kitchen together or to a functional work zone for a couple. DESIGN SOLUTION – Removal of awkward angle walls creating more space for a larger kitchen – External angles which couldn’t be modified are hidden, creating a rational, serene space where the skylights run parallel to walls and fittings. NEW KITCHEN FEATURES – A highly functional layout with well-defined and spacious cooking, preparing and storage zones. – Generous bench space around cooktop and sink provide great workability in a small space – An inviting island bench for relaxing, working and entertaining for one or many cooks – A light filled interior with ocean views from several vantage points in the kitchen – An appliance/pantry with sliding for easy access to plentiful storage and hidden appliance use to keep the kitchen streamlined and easy to keep tidy. – A light filled interior with ocean views from several vantage points in the kitchen – Refined aesthetics which welcomes, relax and allows for individuality with warm timber open shelves curate collections that make the space feel like it’s a home always on holidays.

The building itself well kept with features of oversized windows/sliding doors overlooking lovely gardens, concrete slab cantilevers, great orientation for capturing the sun and those sleek 50’s modern lines. It is home to Stephen & Karen, a professional couple who renovated the interior of the apartment except for the lone, very outdated bathroom. That was still stuck in the 50’s – they saved the best till last. Structural Challenges Very small room - 3.5 sq. metres; Door, window and wall placement fixed; Plumbing constraints due to single skin brick walls and outdated pipes; Low ceiling, Inadequate lighting & Poor fixture placement. Client Requirements Modern updated bathroom; NO BATH required; Clean lines reflecting the modernist architecture Easy to clean, minimal grout; Maximize storage, niche and Good lighting Design Statement You could not swing a cat in there! Function and efficiency of flow is paramount with small spaces and ensuring there was a single transition area was on top of the designer’s mind. The bathroom had to be easy to use, and the lines had to be clean and minimal to compliment the 1950’s architecture (and to make this tiny space feel bigger than it actual was). As the bath was not used regularly, it was the first item to be removed. This freed up floor space and enhanced the flow as considered above. Due to the thin nature of the walls and plumbing constraints, the designer built up the wall (basin elevation) in parts to allow the plumbing to be reconfigured. This added depth also allowed for ample recessed overhead mirrored wall storage and a niche to be built into the shower. As the overhead units provided enough storage the basin was wall hung with no storage under. This coupled with the large format light coloured tiles gave the small room the feeling of space it required. The oversized tiles are effortless to clean, as is the solid surface material of the washbasin. The lighting is also enhanced by these materials and therefore kept quite simple. LEDS are fixed above and below the joinery and also a sensor activated LED light was added under the basin to offer a touch a tech to the owners. The renovation of this bathroom is the final piece to complete this apartment reno, and as such this 50’s wonder is ready to live on in true modern style.

The main bathroom housed a freestanding bath, with a floating wash plane basin housing cabinetry underneath and a mirrored cabinet with strip lighting behind to draw light to the textured tiles on the walls. Chrome tapware kept the minimal and conservative look to this bathroom, showcasing the bath, tiles and basin as the stand out features.

Bathroom: We installed lighting under the worktop surface. The surface is made from resin and reflects the light as a single surface glow. Also, the concealed lighting within the ceiling flood the feature wall with light.

In order to maximise the space in a bathroom we tried to keep floor area as clean and minimalistic as possible. Wall mounted toilet and vanity-unit open floor area visually expanding the space. Large slabs of porcelain and slim shower tray bring neat contemporary finish. Mirror hides recessed wall cabinet above the toilet and double the space.
