Nestled amongst Queenslanders and large contemporary homes in a suburb of Brisbane, is a modest, mid-century modern home. The much-loved home of a professional couple, it features large, low windows and interiors that have lost their way over time. Bella Vie Interiors worked with Boutique Bathrooms Brisbane to redesign the bathroom and give it a true sense of identity. The result is a light, functional bathroom that blends seamlessly with the Mid-Century Modern aesthetic of the home.

The back wall of this ensuite was featured with the addition of a shower niche with inset marble mosaic tiles to contrast the pattern on the wall tiles but still be visually pleasing. A skylight was added for light and ventilation. The slim line cabinetry has twin basins and mirrored shaving cabinets for extra storage and wall lights. This small main bathroom is also the home's powder room for all guests, it had to have a touch of bling. The custom vanity and bathroom furniture was created to join the two outer walls to draw the eye thru the space. Stunning Marble is applied tot he walls with a feature wall of Bisazza glass mosaics. We featured the stunning marble by creating an extra deep vanity top and selecting brushed brass tapware and light fitting. The warm walnut timber tones bring warmth and harmony.

The aim for this bathroom was to create a space that looks and feels bigger and brighter. This was achieved with a simple black and white colour palette and bold fixtures and fittings, giving the space a unique appeal. Encaustic floor tiles from Fired Earth uses french inspired patterns giving a feminine touch which also helps to zone the two areas whilst a crittall style shower screen defines the shower enclosure. Stainless steel accents enhance the look adding another dimension to the space.

Our goal was to create a striking and highly personalized space that perfectly reflects her fearless design aesthetic. Statement Wallpapers & Vibrant Feature Walls The design centers around bold, eye-catching wallpapers that immediately set the tone for each space. These dynamic patterns add personality and energy, transforming the bathrooms into expressive, artful retreats. Brushed Copper Tapware for Warmth & Elegance To complement the statement walls, we selected brushed copper tapware, adding warmth and a refined touch. This combination balances boldness with sophistication, creating a visually stunning contrast. Functionality with a Personal Touch Beyond aesthetics, we ensured that both spaces were highly functional. Thoughtful storage solutions and a well-planned layout make these bathrooms not only stylish but also practical for everyday use. A Creative Collaboration This project was a true collaboration, embracing the client’s adventurous taste to craft a space as bold and expressive as she is. The final design blends personality, practicality, and creativity—delivering a bathroom and en-suite that feel truly one-of-a-kind.

This cloakroom has an alcove feature with mosaics, highlighted with uplighters to create a focal point. The lighting has an led interior surround to create a soft ambient glow. The traditional oak beams and limestone floor work well together to soften the traditional feel of this space.
