We used Active Builders to convert a dressing room into an ensuite bathroom (October 2024) and to remodel an existing bathroom (March 2025) . In each case they did a good job with a high quality finish. We found Active to be proactive and willing to solve problems in a constructive and practical way. In addition, the Active team is pleasant and straightforward to deal with. We would certainly work with Active again.

We booked ABL to paint the front of our house and Peter, the guy who came was brilliant. He was incredibly thorough at prepping the house and did a great job of the paintwork. Friendly, punctual and very efficient and easy to work with. We will definitely book again.

ABL Design and Build helped realise our designs for a 4 storey family home in Ealing. Their scope was to construct a new basement space for our clients. The scope was to build an open plan kitchen and dining area with glazing looking onto the garden. They also expertly built a double height vestibule space with contemporary staircase, shower room, pantry, laundry room and playroom. Tomasz's team were efficient, polite, lovely to work with, open and accommodating with new design ideas and the site was spotless. Highly recommend!

This is the second time I've used Tomasz and his team and they were as brilliant the second time around. The first time they renovated my kitchen and bathroom, and this time they fully renovated my luxury exercise studio. They completed a huge job in 6 days with efficiency, professionalism, patience and skill. I couldn't recommend them enough! We worked with Active Builders on a basement extension project in Ealing where we supplied our kitchen. Having building work in your house can be extremely stressful. This is not the case with Active builders! I had 2 kids and a pregnant wife at home during the work. Active builders have been amazing. Forget the stereotypical builders these guys are brilliant. They are friendly, polite, always on time and work very hard all day. Their work is top quality and they communicated with us all the way through our job. They kept dust down when doing dusty work and kept the work areas super clean. I am an architect that normally does large commercial and residential projects. Occasionally family members come to me to undertake extensions or extensive remodelling of their homes. These are usually Listed Buildings of significant architectural merit in their own right. Tomasz and Dariusz have completed one of these projects, which was a rebuilding of the existing house within the facades to solve a number of structural issues, but also to modernise it. There was an extension to the rear and side. Apart from a faithful recreation of the interior of the main house, the extension used Crittall windows and an internal screen. Crittall liked the house so much, that they recently awarded it U.K. Crittall House of the Year. The workmanship from ABL throughout was excellent. They are currently engaged on the second, which is the removal of the roof and the reconstruction of it to provide significant acoustic and thermal improvement to create a guest suite. It is being restored with materials exactly as were there, slates from the original quarry, terracotta roof details made by from 3D scanned originals, and timber sash windows. There is no question that they will continue to work on projects for my family for restoration or extension of their Listed Houses. Why? Well quite apart from the quality of their workmanship, they are very accurate in their setting out and site supervision, working easily with specialist sub-contractors of significant size who work on my larger projects. What is striking about Tomasz and Dariusz, apart from their constant courtesy is that if there is a detail to be resolved not only do they ask promptly but also they give me laser dimensions, and also an option for its resolution. This kind of organisational skill usually only comes with large contractors, and sometimes not even then. Finally their pricing is accurate, and they are willing to follow both precise and detailed specifications including installation methodology.

I read all these reviews before contacting Active Builders and I am pleased that I did so. All the reviews are correct. Communication with Tomasz is excellent. He is very professional and always replies to emails within a very reasonable time detailing everything meticulously. My husband and I are pleased with the work they have done for us (painting, decorating and repairs a recently purchased apartment). Everything was on time and we were always kept up to date. They also accommodated some of the additions we requested along the way and were ready to adapt their time to fit with ours. I have no hesitation to use their services in the future or to recommend them to others.

I would highly recommend this company particularly due to the two partners Tomasz & Dariusz running the firm to be highly ethical and professional who are able to provide guidance where necessary and to ensure we get to an optimum result for all parties based on time cost & quality. We selected Active Builders to work on our project after having first obtained a recommendation on them from a leading professional Project Manager. The project was to undertake a full renovation and structural works in respect of a three story Victorian house which was run down. By the end of the project, the Active Builders team had completely transformed the property (from old and drab) into a bright, new, contemporary and fresh space in accordance with our architects plans. We enjoyed a fabulous experience working with Tomasz, Dariusz and the Active Builders team. In our experience, their workmanship and reliability was first rate and we cannot speak highly enough of them and their workmanship. In addition to having delivered a stunning project on time, on budget and in good quality, they were also knowledgeable, engaging and friendly to work without throughout the project. We have just finished renovating a house in Twickenham and can highly recommend Active Builders. Tomasz, Darius and the whole team are highly skilled, professional, reliable and honest. We rewired the whole house, new flooring, decoration, fitted a new kitchen, new bathrooms and some work on the roof. All of which has been done to a high standard. Active Builders London Ltd carried out extensive work for us, completely gutting a three story Victorian town house which had not been maintained for the previous 40 years. The work included removing an old bathroom and kitchen, re-wiring, re-plumbing, installing two new bathrooms, a new kitchen, underfloor heating and new windows. Working from Architects plans with structural engineers and planning we now have a beautiful home. Communication was excellent - Tomasz Artymowicz, the project manager, responded to text and emails very quickly. Tomasz made many helpful suggestions to solve unforeseen problems, including dealing with an unusually difficult building control officer. When I was ripped off by a garden landscaping company who disappeared half way through digging up the 20 meter long back garden, Tomasz went above and beyond and stepped in arranging for some of his team to finish the work. They did a beautiful job with the hard landscaping, fencing and paving. We had complete confidence in Tomasz’s project management of plumbers, tilers, electricians etc. They turned up, were polite and tidy and did the job on time. Tomasz also sourced high quality and cost effective supplies, including acoustic glazed windows, underfloor heating system, plumbing fittings and flooring. During the later stages of the project, we were living at the house and Tomasz and his team were great keeping the house tidy and working around my toddler and baby, and my conference calls when I was working from home. We have been impressed on the attention to detail throughout the building works and following completion, when Tomasz came back to check for any snags. Tomasz has promptly dealt with any after care problems, of which there have only been very minor ones. All visitors to our home remark on the high standard of workmanship, painting, woodwork, plastering, tiles etc and we have been confident in recommending Active Builders London Ltd to them.

We have used Tom and his team various times now carrying out work for our clinic in central London. No job is too big or too small. From building shelving units, installing LED lights/strips across the clinic to building a new reception desk and a treatment room. After every refurbishment the clinic is always left spotless and each job is always carried out to a high standard. I highly recommend using Active Builders!

We used Active Builders London to do loft conversion and although they were not the cheapest ones , I am absolutely delighted with the results. Last summer Tom and his team from Active builders converted my garage to a kitchen in Camberwell. His team of professionals did all aspects of the job. The building work the electrics, plumbing, carpentry, tiling, kitchen fitting and decorating. They always turned up to schedule and completed the job on time and for the agreed quote. Active builders are currently renovating my bathroom at my property in Acton. This will include renewing the bathroom suite, tiling, lowering the ceiling, electrics and decorating. They are my first call when I am considering any new renovations.
