“The decision to have a new kitchen fitted is never taken lightly, much less when it entails a rebuild from ground zero. We did not have this scale of project in mind when we visited several large kitchen companies but, rather, a basic refurb of our existing storage facilities and appliances. Nothing we saw or heard inspired us to work with those companies. KAW came to our attention because someone had had them fit two kitchens and they were happy with both, so this sounded very encouraging (lightning doesn’t strike twice, right?). Our first contact was with Gemma and, from our initial, very thorough meeting, we abandoned all thoughts of looking elsewhere. From the word go, Gemma was attentive, thorough and skilled. After our first meeting, she dutifully designed a couple of configurations in line with our intention to replace what we already had, then showed us a third design (totally outside the box), introducing it with a casual, “You might not like this, but… ” We did like it. It had the potential to transform the look, feel and function of the room. There was no hard sell, but we were immediately sold on the design. Craig arrived on day one. He is referred to as “a fitter” but, in fact, he became much more to the project: generator of ideas, translator of technical jargon and therapist, to name but three roles. His many skills and attention to detail were, thankfully, present throughout and his assurance early on that, “Once the plastering has been finished, the worst is over,” turned out to be accurate. All the trades (plumber, electrician, decorator, plasterers) were courteous, came when they should have and carried out the tasks as if they were working on their own home, showing consideration and clearing up when they had finished. Gemma supported us ably whilst all this was going on. The end result is a kitchen reborn. We are delighted with it and would not hesitate to recommend KAW, as well as all the tradespeople they used for the work, to anyone considering a new fitted kitchen.”
