From what I can see there is very little space for plants at all I would do 2 large planters on either side of the steps filled with seasonal plants and decor and be done

I love this style of house! There are lots of great choices for smaller shrubs , such as azalea (reblooming varieties), rhododendron, boxwoods and possibly roses that would work well in your landscape.

Don't forget to add lighting to enjoy the space at night.
