A very nice person and a real Christian.

”Never shy at expressing her Christian faith, Parton was also a public supporter of the LGBTQ community who advocated for marriage equality and spoke up in defense of transgender people.”

“I keep saying: If you’re the fine Christian that you think you are, why are you judging people,” Parton said during a 2017 interview with Larry King. “That’s God’s job.”

Along those lines, she jokingly told a British outlet a few years earlier: “I think gay couples should be allowed to marry. They should suffer just like us heterosexuals.”

We've lost a national treasure - she brought so much enjoyment and inspiration to people.

Some years back, WNYC did a great podcast series about her...

Her family has released this video statement:

Interesting, that test is still around ! Our work group took it in the '80s

One question I never forgot regarding choose 'mercy or justice' and I chose justice because I thought if we really had justice there'd be no need for mercy... hence, I got an INTJ instead of my desired INTP, haha ... I thought the whole thing was ridiculous at the time (in my defense, I was only 26 ) .

I really came to dislike that Myers Briggs personality assessment that was so popular for a time. It was over used IMO. For a few years it came up at every managers retreat or training I attended. It sometimes worked as an ice breaker when most of the attendees were unknown to each other. It also was a handy way to break a large group into teams. It was pretty obvious that one’s answers were largely affected by the mood the person was in at the time of testing.

Thought for the day --

A widely repeated pop-culture quote attributes this remark to Bette Davis after Joan Crawford died in 1977: "My mother always said that you should never say bad things about the dead, only good… Joan Crawford is dead. Good."

Right now I’m watching dragonflies and eating peanuts.

Not that I ever doubted it, but yours is a life well lived.

I love dragonflies. I think that PBS bug program stated that a dragonfly will eat about 400 mosquitoes a day. Don’t take tht to the bank. It might have been that the pay $400 rent a week, or mate 400 times a day.

"I don't automatically assume something like that."

I realize that. I was politely trying to explain why someone may want to track the delivery so they can be home. In case they don't have a place where a delivery can be made. The Amazon delivery pick-up locations aren't always convenient. The closest one to me is 6.4 miles away.

Feeling a little better but the spots are still apparent. Still scalp soreness but no new spots I noticed. Almost done with the anti-virus drug. Thanks !

sephia, that was the first thing that came to my mind as well but didn't want to take away the seriousness of this poor man's suffering. Thank you for doing so.
