Sam, that was a great idea! I think if I could shred the things personally that would be satisfying. I do actually have a shredder but I would think it would take as much time to do that as it would to burn them. Going to a shredder I don’t get to SEE anything happen… just hand over the stuff and hope that they shred it. 🤔don’t even get the shreds back.
…
KC funny you should say that about burning things symbolically… I got out my old burn pit and I did burn two symbolic pages today. Even with the burn ban I figured nobody would notice two pieces of paper being burnt in my backyard… I already feel better.

Hi Lia, My intuition said I should step out of my cocoon and into your world for a peek at what you are up to. That I have an answer to a question. Weird huh. Then i see you have a dilemma of what to do with treasured memories both sad and melancholy. Suddenly a thought popped into my head. Why not transform the items into Paper mache and create a piece of art or jewelry so that you can have it but in a form to remind you of how you have transformed your life. As an artist, it may be cathartic rather than destructive.
This is what AI has to say about it:
Transforming old journals and letters into papier-mâché is a powerful, tactile way to practice emotional alchemy. By breaking down the physical words of sad memories, you literally reshape your past into a beautiful new symbol of joy and resilience. Here is how to guide your mind and hands through this healing artistic process.🎨 The Metaphorical Process
- Shredding: Tear the paper into small strips. Acknowledge that you are breaking the hold these old narratives have on you.
- Soaking: Submerge the papers in water. Watch the ink bleed and blur, dissolving the rigid reality of those past painful moments.
- Binding: Mix the pulp with glue. You are creating a new, stronger foundation out of the pieces of your history.
- Sculpting: Shape the paste into something completely new. You are actively choosing how your story looks today.
🛠️ What to Create
- A Memory Vessel: Sculpt a hollow bowl or box to hold new, positive keepsakes, gratitude notes, or future dreams.
- A Growth Symbol: Shape the pulp into a seed pod, a flower blooming, or a bird taking flight to represent personal transformation.
- A Protective Totem: Form a small, solid heart or stone shape that you can keep in your pocket to remind you of your survival and strength.
- A Layered Canvas: Use the strips to create a textured background on a canvas, then paint vibrant, joyful colors directly over the old words.
I truly cannot tell you where all this just came from. I've been having a lot of intuitive thoughts and dreams that have been unusual. Tonight I am just a conduit that may inspire you. 👼

So much I would comment on but I’ll just show you these pics. Going to try to clean here. It’s a mess.
Yesterday was Charlie’s birthday He’s 3! Kids were here a lot this week including yesterday. My daughter took a class and had a major whatever it was, due. Impossible to concentrate with them around Constant chatter and no volume adjustment. Stuck on loud. OH working at MIL…. endless.
Son was out as well.
I put up my Happy Birthday sign and blew up balloons. They did these for Charlie

Beloved’s sister is coming to visit in September. She’s my only sister, and I hers. Our parents only provided brothers.
Rred, that’s a super duper productive day. Currently looking for a freezer unit myself but first have to clean out the place in basement where I want to put it….
But as life has thus flung me another unexpected change of events, I need to clean the garage first. OB and I went to a local, massive car show yesterday. Took his muscle mustang and met up with several of my friends and his (it’s ironic how my bestie’s family and his besties all do cars so it was a happy meet up). Well, the inside display of special cars was nice and refreshing (AC) and the last car we came to was for sale by a local shop dedicated to the old stuff. We talked to the rep there about this car and he allowed me to sit inside (it was overwhelming because I had a similar model I had to sell due to unfortunate events in my life, well, they weren’t all that unfortunate but stupid decisions made caused by a bad marriage partner). Anyhow OB asked me to look at the price and it was pretty good (I know this because I routinely look at these vehicles year/model….its what I sacrificed & unfairly lost kinda thing). We walked around a good bit more but both of us were continually thinking about this car. OB finally looks at me and states we should put $ on it to hold so we go back to the rep and find if we back out we only lose $50 from our hold money. Of course the rep states there’s a few other interested parties. So we walked around and mull over a bit more. OB finally looks at me and says “I don’t want to lose this over $50.” Neither did I! So we go back and get the hold placed right before another man showed up to do the same. This car is for me, so I took charge and probably kinda bent an ego, but I have a long history of buying my own cars…..I’m not frail in this area, which I think kinda excited him at the same time. His car friends looked it over and the seller will let us look at the underneath on a lift before purchase. OMG it is sweet and even though it’s not the blue mine was, the color combo/graphics matches the colors our vehicles currently are…plus the boat! If all works Monday, I will own a 1986 Mustang GT 5.0. My former one was an ‘87 but not a 5.0 so it’s a much deserved upgrade.
Now I have to clean out the garage.
Sam, it was great. So great that OH wants us to hire someone on the regular to come in and clean. I haven't persuaded him of that need since I quit working 15 years ago. Our cleaning lady was the first thing he cancelled. Now that he's been doing the bulk of it himself, we have an entirely different story. LOLOL We also had a company come in and do the windows inside and out. Sheesh! THAT was kind of an astounding difference.
Upshot: we must be crappy cleaners.
