I love this article! When I had my galley kitchen renovated a few years ago, I chose to keep the same “footprint” and I vastly improved my storage. On one side are 3 bays of 3 sets of drawers to house my pots, pans and dishes; above the countertop are cabinets. Next to my fridge, I have pullout drawers to house my smaller containers and large cabinet above my fridge to house my baking items.

My son is handy, and our kitchen cabinets old, and we can't afford to replace them. For Xmas this year I asked him to install these pullout shelves I ordered online. They were super easy and allow we "senior folks" to get at the items in the back without tearing out an entire cabinet's contents.
