How do I work around low ceilings and small windows?

I just moved in to a converted warehouse with low ceilings and quite small windows. It's in a conservation area so I can't add more windows. I want to make it feel cosy rather than small. Any ideas? I love bright colours but am worried they will be too overpowering!

if you add white boarders around your windows it will give the impression they are larger than they actually are ! using warm white as a base paint will keep the space feeling larger - then as blocks of colour as and where you like them perhaps ?! also you could maybe get some colour in with Philips LED light changers ?!

Are you going for standard height worktops? If so, I think it will be fine as the units will be just over a 1/3 of the wall height (things on walls seem to work better when in 1/3s or 2/3rds rather than splitting a wall in half). I would either paint the walls and ceilings the same colour or just go a shade or 2 lighter on the ceiling than the walls so you're not creating contrast. Late to the discussion, but wanted to put some options on here. There is an option for a 5 sided bat curtain poles, they have passing rings and can be a little faffy, however they do work when fitted level and well. If the angles are short enough i would break the angle and use a 3 sided pole by bringing the pole forward away from the window. The secret with the bay poles is to make the angles as soft as possible and use as few brackets as possible for the least obstructions https://www.direct-fabrics.co.uk/curtain-poles/metal-curtain-poles/bay-window-curtain-poles However i agree with alot of the other points, personally i would fit a curtain track across this. It would dress the window well and would provide a good solid fixing and smooth operation. We are looking for the same type of tiles to use on the wall of the sink. The whole bathroom will be a toned down yellow (that's the idea for now) and a secluded shower area - turquoise. The idea is to make it Spanish style, ao there will be a lot of dark wood wood (beams, mirror, sink plank, maybe some more planks, wooden door), some old school wall lights. Shower head and tap are supposed to be bronze color, the old school type. And we'll have plants hanging and standing around. Only not sure about the floor tiles yet. My husband wants it all in pebbles, but i'm not sure it will look nice
