We're with Valduff. Shades of purple and plum can really add depth to a chic scheme like yours. Particularly with your gorgeous counter top. Grey is also a good call, as it will coordinate with your kitchen units but allow room to add coloured accessories. It can depend on the light quality in your room- we always recommend grabbing some tester opts in a range of shades. Paint your walls or A4 sheets, and see what the colours look like as the light changes throughout the day.

We went through the dilemma where we had a splashback installed behind the cooker and back wall units and had initially thought of having an upstand on the window wall... when the materials arrived, we found that the upstand was thicker than the splashback and it actually looked odd and unfinished... We decided to continue the splashback on the window wall, it actually adds interest against the slightly off white-grey walls and looks much better...

Just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who helped with ideas, and especially Jen for giving me a bit of inspiration and a light bulb moment! You are so right, holding your nerves whilst it’s going up is the hardest!! . I did opt for a splash back only and extended it so it goes a little under the cupboards. I’ve posted the finished pic below and hopefully going to accessorise with copper and wood to add warmth! A big hug and thanks to all x

I personally love tiles. I think they add interest. However I had to google Wow Fez tiles as I had no idea what they were! So they are Moroccan hand made style tiles and you are wanting plain white ones? Is that right? Are they like the ones in my second pic? If so, I think they are beautiful. I think metro/subway tiles are a bit boring unless they are an interesting colour. I would tile behind the cooker and up to the window sills. However some people have just an upstand in the same material as the worktop (picture below) and use a washable paint on the rest of the wall. It boils down to personal taste.
