It doesn't look bad if it's dressed well it just doesn't flow as well as if it was centred with a bedside table either side. Symmetry tends to help a room flow

I think you need a builder or engineer to confirm if the wall where you have placed the fridge is indeed structural. Given where it is in the building I think it is unlikely it is structural- I suspect it is a brick build partition and because if feels solid you have assumed it has to stay. If it can come out or at least be reduced in size I would have a layout as below which gives you space now but can easily be partitioned into a 3 bed later.

I do think a rod/rail as high as you could get one (below the corner beam), running the whole width of the window wall would deceive the eye re: the proportions of the room. I think you might have already answered your question... to remove the pinch point on entering the bedroom would be to switch the door to open against the wall. Despite having to move the light switch and changing the landing symmetry, it is the most practical solution. I feel a sliding door into the bedroom would be even more disruptive to the landing. But a sliding door into the ensuite would definately help space management, and would work equally well  with the door where it is or at the other end.
