Thank you all for your comments! I think for the moment, I will leave the wall tile-less, and in time maybe look at adding a glass splashback. Orla Conneely: the walls actually haven't been painted (properly!) yet - the walls are just a basic woodies white matt paint :-) I'm not sure where you're based, but I've got really good colour advice from Colortrend, so would definitely call into them, and they will be able to advise on a colour Amandajoyking: the room is approx 4m x 5m if I remember correctly DB413 - I like your colour suggestions -I had been thinking of teal/purple myself, I will investigate this further for fabrics for the corner chairs Nicky: the work tops are silestone 'Stellar snow' - it has quite a bit of sparkle, but doesn't dominate, and it definitely lifts the room - I'm definitely glad that I went for something with a sparkle. The floor tiles were sourced from a small independent local retailer, so I can't provide further details on this I'm afraid!

Hi Catherine, Although the tiler could have done a better job of grouting (which should be easy enough to clean and tidy up) it may actually be the mosaics causing some of the visible gaps. These mosaics are glued to a mesh sheet which is usually 300mm x 300mm. It seems from the photos that it’s not just the joints from each sheet but also a few rogue hexagons within the sheets that is causing the visible gaps. An expert tiler may repair as he lays but from experience very few are that meticulous and would argue they are not paid to be. Not what u want to hear. Understandably u want your bathroom to be perfect after investing so much time and money in it. But to be honest I think once the grout is tidied a bit (you could regrout in a different colour as well) then you’ll be very happy and it’s one of those things that no one else would notice anyway. Thanks for all your comments. I have gone with an unfinished edge like Rukmini's pictures (sorry Sonia :D) as I think it will just look a bit more interesting especially against a dark navy wall. I have tiled around the window but not into the window recess. I'm pleased with how it looks so far - will try to remember to post a pic of the finished room!
