how about continue boxing all the way to the window and use it to house concealed shower pipes and taps also. adding a niche for shampoo and soaps / candles. to have a mirror cabinets above the sink and toilet and under sink cabinet. also fill the gap on the other side of the bath adding a cabinet for laundry / cleaning stuff.

I think it will be fine. Here is a photo of mine. The unit is 92 cm from floor. Then basin approx 7cm. I did choose a shallower basin than you are suggesting as everyone told me it would be too high. Pleased to report it isn’t!

Hi Fattyma, I don't think it would be complicated.Which direction would the herringbone go?the size of the herringbone tile?I would go with a smaller herringbone tile for a smaller bathroom.If you haven't made a final choice yet,look at other tile patterns such as chevron similar to herringbone.There are also nice hexagon tiles would compliment the vanity and space. Yes totally agree about price not always being indicative of quality. I would avoid engineered wood (although it looks great) and go for a surface that is MDF wrapped in a veneer. I usually dry myself in the shower and then step out onto the mat so I'm not sure how it would get so wet. Just use an extraction fan linked to the light, open the window if the bathroom has one and leave the door open for a while after using. I don't know what good care for a vanity constitutes but wiping it with a weak cleaning product and then drying it thoroughly should be plenty. Dripping plumbing is more down to a useless plumber or limescale causing tap cartridges to fail. It sounds as though your plumbing connection was leaking under the basin.
