Comments (3)I would. Whether you add part of the garage to the kitchen or put the dining room in the garage area and have the existing kitchen and dining room as a large kitchen, then that‘s the route I think I’d take....See MoreLong, narrow kitchen layout
Comments (6)I personally like the shorter kitchen. However I would make a little amendment to that. When you blow it up in to 3D you will see that Fridge Freezer on the left as you come through the door, which i personally spoils the clean lines that you could get on that side. I would build out your nib on the pantry side, so that you can put in a tall integrated Fridge Freezer adjacent to the Pantry. I think it gives you a better look on the left as you come in With or without wall cupboards I think that all of that in turn leads to a more spacious Dining and Lounge area....See MoreLong narrow kitchen
Comments (9)You would need to post the dimensions of the whole thing, so that we can see how wide the alcove is. Do you mean this type of arrangement? Depending on where you kitchen comes to, you should have room for a 220cm long table, which when pushed against the wall, or integrated at the end of the units would provide enough room for 3 dining chairs across one side and a chair at the end. Thus, a proper seating area instead of just a breakfast bar. Like this:-...See MoreShow us your narrow kitchens please!
Comments (13)I think I’m struggling to see the usefulness of a peninsula personally. We are a family of 4 so wouldn’t all be able to sit at it, or even as a 3 while one is cooking. The other disadvantage I see is it doesn’t seem to offer an awful lot of additional counter space. We have a decent length to the room so could extend the counter further if we had to, rather than having a peninsula break the clean line......Personal preference I just can’t take to them. Jonathan - I do love the depth idea, gives a real sense of style and practicality, especially the first picture!.....Thank you. Sonia thank you for the image of your kitchen, as you say at 1.2m that does look snug still so it is hard to imagine less than that gap between a counter and an island! I think the only way I could achieve it is if I made sure things like fridge an oven we’re not in it’s direct path Again thanks for for the advice, keep it coming 👍🏻...See More- 11 years ago
