Comments (6)It seems a bit small to carry the volume of that wall and is not working with the wide spacing of the sconces. It also is leggy and towers above the sectional, so the visual balance is not working either. Try using painter's tape on the wall to tape out a "mock-up" of something that is 75% as wide as the space between sconces, but no higher than the highest part of your sofa back from the floor. The piece could be a credenza or even a bench, perhaps one that matches the material used in trio of columns there on the left. Above it you need a tall vertical piece of art that is no wider than 75% of the piece below it. Try the two deer in the center of your dining table and the other pieces on the coffee table....See MoreSofa or console
Comments (2)I'd go for a sofa to make it a lovely place to chill and have a coffee. I wouldn't go for the formal one you have in the pic though. A nice soft leather would be perfect with some throws and nice cushions. Then you could cosy up in front of the wood burner :-)...See MoreLong Front Room Design Ideas
Comments (3)I think the difficulty is that you have a lot of things to work around you have a feature wall a patio door a window a TV and a fire. Have you considered mounting your TV on the wall (check if it would hold the weight) above the fire that way you have 2 focus points in the same place. Then I think I'd go with 3 seater sofa and 2 chairs instead of a corner sofa. Then you could have the 3 along your feature wall and bring a chair either side into the middle of the room (off the wall) maybe place a small coffee table in the middle to give the illusion of space. Then a mirror on the feature wall. A floor lamp in the corner by the patio door and maybe a low side bored under the window to give the illusion of hight. I think I'd also stick with muted tones but not just whites and creams. There are some lovely sofas with different patterns so maybe you could have a patterned chair and a full colour chair and add cushions. I don't think I've explained the sofa fabric very well so I will try and add some pictures...See MoreHow to coordinate the sofas in my Guest Area?
