Need help with the dining area in my kitchen
Comments (44)What a beautiful and perfect table you found! Hubba hubba - those legs are just gorgeous. Well done and thanks for calling out to me. As for the chair mix, I think four beige and two merlot would be lovely. I think you like a traditional look, so I'm a bit worried that you won't be happy with it. If the table will normally be smaller with four beige chairs around it and maybe put the two merlot ones on either side of the radiator cover/"console", then definitely do the mix. Mismatched chairs around a dining table are often all different or the same make and model in a multitude of colours or the same colour in different styles. Do a Houzz search and see if you can find your planned mix and if you like the look. If in doubt, get four beige and look at them for a while! You could tie the two chair colours together with little cushions on the chairs - maybe just on the two merlot ones. Both of these are too big, I think, but the colours are good. http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/reasonhome/product/pondicherry-flower-silk-cushion-cover http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/emmalonsdale/product/chit-chat-rectangular-cushion This one might be the right size: http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/jennysibthorp/product/lobster-pot-screen-printed-natural-linen-cushion I covet the table already so I can't wait to see him all polished up.......See MoreHow do I decorate my guest bedroom?
Comments (15)Hi. Nice paper but as the room is east facing the silver may look just a little cold? If you do go for a pale but warm stone on the walls I might go for a stone wallpaper. This one is cream but may work as the pattern looks to be in stone (but will look elsewhere). I really like the idea of papering just behind the bed (missed that before, thought you just meant the bed ŵall!) but I do think you'll need to build a frame for it from beading but that will be cheap to do. I wouldn't go excessively low on the light just for people sitting up/climbing into bed but you should get away with slightly lower than normal. If you're after damask this may work from bhs plus it's on offer atm and it's an easy fit if you were still thinking along those lines http://www.homebase.co.uk/en/homebaseuk/premier-province-wallpaper---cream-144790 http://www.bhs.co.uk/en/bhuk/product/home-lighting-furniture-2565866/ceiling-lights-2809354/easy-fit-2805454/mocha-jemima-easy-to-fit-ceiling-light-5113620?bi=1&ps=40&qbDiscount=20#BVRRWidgetID...See MoreHelp, how to decorate to go with my sofa?
Comments (3)Hi. Have you ever considered a real interesting eye catching piece of art work to really brighten up an area, I think a select piece of art would really make the space stand out, add interest, colour, texture and add a great talking point to the room.... Please check out my website if you like the idea and please get in contact, commission work is also welcomed so if you like a particular style I can do in a select colour palette and size as an original piece…..I’m also able to produce all original paintings in high end print format, in any size same or smaller than the original. (all within proportions to the original so not to cause distortion) All prints shown are Giclee prints onto soft textured fine art media. All prints come with a white border these can be made to measure too. So lots of options, www.guigsart.co.uk...See MoreSuggestions on how to get an office, and guest space in small room
Comments (6)Have you considered fitting a bi/fold or sliding door or rehanging it to open into the hallway? That would resolve one end of the room. At the other I would fit a length of nice worktop across the full width and have a slot cut out at the back to allow the heat from the radiator to rise. It would also be useful for losing the wire mess from TV's and computers. Adding a small storage unit under the worktop would keep the room tidy. Putting in a sofa bed would make this a great and functioning TV/Office and occasional guest room....See MoreAmber Jeavons Ltd
