I was a die hard F&B fan - painted numerous houses solely in F&B for the finish etc. HOWEVER due to budget constraints, a current offer at Homebase on Dulux paint (inc. mix) , and the fact i'm painting an entire 3 storey house i experimented with colour matching F&B colours - specifically Cornforth White, Purebeck Stone, Ammonite and Pink Ground. Opting for the Endurance Matt and Flat Matt finishes by Dulux i was pleasantly surprised by the results. The colour match was pretty much spot on - i would caveat that the Dulux colour match won't produce matching finishes for all colours. For example Dulux couldn't match a flat eggshell in the Cornforth White so we bought Estate Eggshell from F&B and it goes perfectly well with the walls in the matched Dulux Endurance Matt. In the master bedroom we choose to use F&B Cornforth White and Pink Ground and estate emulsion and I felt it was a thinner paint than the Dulux! The added benefit of the Dulux colour match is that they can provide a number of different more durable finishes. If you want colour inspiration have a look at Paint & paper Library too.

You could also look for a colour consultant. Some of the paint companies also offer such a service such as farrow and ball and little Greene. I would try some different neutrals such as Little Greene 'Slaked Lime Dark' or Farrow and Ball 'Light Grey17'. It a lovely bright space and the floor is very warm and quite strong so I would go for a warm stoney neutral that complements the floor and the range. If the paint is more obviously blue of green it will make the floor look even stronger. Little Greene does oil based so I would use that over water based. Here are my go-to evergreen shrubs: Choisya ternata (you can also use the gold variety 'Sundance') - keep it clipped into a mounded to control size, beautiful, scented white flowers in summer, Osmanthus heterophyllus 'Goshiki' - looks a bit like holly and very tough, again, keep clipped - it won't grow too large and stays in a tight shape, Myrtus communis - again, white flowers, again holds a nice shape, but keep clipped so it doesn't get too big, Hebe pinguifolia 'Sutherlandii' - is a low growing mound forming Hebe with white flowers in summer, doesn't need pruning, pair the Hebe with Phormium 'Bronze Baby' for contrast - it's a smaller Phormium and hardier than some. Use some Hydrangeas and Paeonies for a spot of colour. I would not use Cordeline as they eventually grow a stem and get very large and leggy. Put in some grasses for texture - depending on how big you want to go. Smaller grasses - Pennisetum 'Hamelyn', Deschampsia cesspitosa, Stipa tenuissima. Larger grasses - Mischanthus, Calamagrostis. Cut back in late winter - very easy to look after. Instead of annuals use low-growing perennials - die back in winter, re-emerge in summer, so need to re-plant each year. My favourites - Geranium 'Rozanne', Sedum 'Purple Emperor', Geranium 'Dragonsheart', Eryngium 'Bourgatii', Vinca minor, Teucrium lucidris, Heuchera 'Obsidian'. If you want some taller perennials use Salvia 'Caradonna', Helenium 'Wyndley', Kniphofia 'Tawny King', Veranicastrum 'Apollo', Echinacea 'Purpurea', Aster frikartii 'Monch', Iris 'Butter and Sugar'. Plant in minimum clumps of 3 and upwards in odd numbered groups. Add some early flowering bulbs and you should have colour year-round.
