The picture of the table that you show is great but the paint as to be or the same or a contrast like a deep grey or even white

I think a darker top would be better as not sure the pine effect works with the darker brown of the tiling etc.

I agree that you would need to match the paint to ensure it worked. I love the idea of the zinc topped table. Loaf do something similar.

Why don't you use a very rustic table for a great contrast. Like the one in the picture that I've designed and built for my sister. The steel dark legs would go with the dark tiles and countertop. The clear glass on top make a smooth surface and brings reflection to the space.

sorry off topic- the Kitchen looks beautiful but have you considered darker or silver powerpoint covers. The white powerpoints were the first thing I noticed in the picture.

I agree with Laura - silver socket plates needed! I like the table and chairs you have chosen but I would give the table top a darker finish and add colour to this lovely neutral scheme with accessories, pendant light and artwork.

The existing scheme is neutral, so you can afford to go one of many ways here. I would stick to a simple style because the units are quite fussy, and introduce some timber to add warmth and texture. Something towards the paler end of the spectrum like birch, ash, or even beech or clear varnished oak. Going for dark timber could make the room darker and feel oppressive. I think the table you picked is fine, but introducing more grey/beige to the scheme will not make it look happy. Could you get some different chairs maybe? White, blue, yellow, or green would all look great if you picked the right shade.

Hi there, lovely kitchen - nice modern take on the Shaker style. The palette is neutral, so I think you have quite a few options to play with - either matching or contrasting. I like the "thinking" of the dining table option in your picture - to work with a contrasting top and legs/chairs would, I think, work well, but I would be tempted to go for 2 different tones of paint and avoid the natural wood, as I'm not sure it goes so well with the kitchen design you have gone for. You could consider getting a relatively inexpensive table and chair set in an unfinished pine or ask, say, and then pick two colours for paint. Given the kitchen palette, I'd have a look at Farrow & Ball for some nice matching or contrasting options. You could always finish the table with a simple glass sheet to protect the paintwork, and maybe even think of some simple stencil work to add interest. The zinc option would be another interesting way to go - you'd need to check how it works with the stainless fittings.

As with some other comments, I think changing your sockets for nice brushed stainless or similar would look fantastic, match your appliances/sinks/handles and really "lift" the kitchen and finish it beautifully. You could also consider adding a socket which incorporates a couple of USB points so you can easily charge your mobiles/tablets without using up a main socket - many customers say they are a godsend!

I like the idea of the zinc table. The wall on the right could be used to add further interest - colour/art/mirrors - something to break up the expanse and bring the whole kitchen together.

Table looks good - the darker top should work really well with your units and the lines echo the shaker style nicely. I will be interested to see how the white works with the rest of your more muted tones - if necessary, you could always give the legs a quick lick of F&B paint in a matching shade to give you a totally unique piece! Not sure about best options for chairs - will ponder awhile! Glad you are changing the sockets - you wouldn't believe how soul destroying it can be to watch someone spend thousands on a stunning kitchen and then kill it standard plastic sockets, just to save a few quid!

I totally agree with Emanuelle for 2 reasons. Firstly, grey can look a bit cool and needs some wood to warm it up. Also, the patina of an antique table would work as a lovely contrast to the 'perfect' kitchen. Zinc is nice but is grey....

I'm in favour of an antique(d) table as well, it would give more character to your kitchen. You could combine it with modern chairs, no need to go all farmhouse ;)

Kitchens are a big expense - especially the chairs so I would match them to the units - the set you showed matches the colours of the chairs with the units really well, BUT, 1. The pine top doesn't work and 2. You need to add a bit of pzaz to this space. You can paint or cover the pine top with whatever colours / textures you choose as accents then follow these colours through into the pictures and the odd accessory (but don't go mad and keep most of the kitchen utensils and tools in the same colour as the background so they 'disappear' - only use subtle accent colours on gorgeous items so they stand out). This way, if you get bored with your scheme you can just change the accessories and the table top colour rather than the whole lot. Feel free to email me for more help.

Save yourself money and PAINT the sockets. I have and it's fun. About to repaint - as I didn't put old Bakelite in 30 years ago - either grey or orange, then a dead flat varnish.

Re table, long, OVAL - think Wayfair - but add colour in random seat cushions - not pads!
