Induction cooker?

We are looking at getting a 90cm electric range type cooker (for easy cleaning). Does anyone have a view on normal electric vs induction please? I'm told repairs on induction may be steep?

Comments (8)Hello Charlie, Well.... If we're talking range then Wolf is my favourite. I also like a white Aga... Failing that Smeg are good. I have had one for 11 years.. Not the same one I moved.. but I do think they are excellent.. What I would look at first is how and what you like to cook as this will help you decide what size to go for... If you have the room go for a 6 burner see image.. These styles are dual fuel which I prefer, and think the Smeg oven is very reliable.. Have a look at a few models to see what you think, but I find them quite easy to clean and they fit the "chrome" look. So you might want to consider a double oven which is pretty useful when cooking a main dish and then say a pudding or canapes in the smaller of the two.... Price? Comments (4)In my opinion an extractor is invaluable to limit cooking smells in your home. You could put the hob under the extractor vent. You could put industrial style overhead ducting to connect an extractor between the windows to the vent. You could have a deeper worktop and a pop up extractor. You could continue the boxing for the extractor vent above the windows to allow you to have an extractor elsewhere. This is what I would do. I would also consider if it is better to put the kitchen in the left hand corner where there are no windows and to move the sink to allow a dining area close to the main door....See Morebespoke kitchen hood
Comments (5)If this was a traditional painted wood kitchen the kitchen manufacturer would be likely making a wall mounted box to put an off the shelf extractor into. There are plenty that are designed to be used as canopy extractors. So what you need is someone to make the box in the style you like. Kitchen manufacturers probably can’t do it because you want this wrapped in sheet metal. You should work out exactly the dimensions you want, draw a plan and source an extractor and then approach a steel fabricator to build it- he may have to check that the wall can take the weight too....See More- 10 years ago
