Need help with Small Bathroom please.
Comments (14)I agree, make the plans and keep them. Also, we had a slightly similar problem - we used to live in a 5-bed house but as we don't like cooking or entertaining in the kitchen, we only put a lovely, small separate kitchen (the size you'd find in a 2-bed flat). That did put families off. However, we got several offers from people without children. It went for over the asking price within a week. I think it might be a similar for you. Also, families with small children need good access to the bath + extra storage for toys and other paraphernalia so your bathroom might struggle even with a bath in....See MoreSmall bathroom refurb help with storage please!
Comments (11)Removing the cupboard sounds like a great idea! It will definitely open up the space and provide an opportunity for extra storage. To maximize the storage opt for a double floorstanding vanity unit. There are plenty out there, but if you like a more clean, contemporary style, this white “his and hers” one on the link below seems to be a hit with our customers. https://www.designangels.co.uk/product-page/floor-standing-double-basin-vanity-unit Good luck with your renovation!...See Morebathroom color - help please
Comments (10)Hi Lovely, I'm loving the tiles in your bathroom and your floor tiles! So I'm with you on this one, go with your gut instinct and paint the walls blue. I suggest something along the lines of Stiffkey Blue, Oval Room Blue or Stone Blue - Farrow and Ball. Make sure you select Modern Emulsion which is designed for bathrooms and kitchen. I see there is dark blue, teals and a bit of green in your bathroom, I suggest you pick whatever works best with your tiles as they are the permanent fixture accessories don't have to be the exact matching shade as that blue. If you are painting the walls dark blue I would leave the blind as is because it has nice subtle detail and you don't want to add too much in such a small space. In terms of the accessories, I would group the plants together as well as any objects and place them in different corners. Sink area looks fine, again I wouldn't want to clutter that area. I would suggest replacing the mirror to something more modern and inline with your style. Hope that helps, let me know if you have any questions? Comments (38)Wow thank you everyone for all your suggestions and help with this. So many good ideas and things to think about! @tim-baker921 thanks for pointing out that a corner WC could work with the initial design put forward by us... it's a good to hear that although we do now agree with the advice from on here that it is better not to reposition a WC too far away from the soil pipe, so we have gone off that design a little. @Phil West, we totally get what you said about the finish being more important than the quantity of amenities. And we agree that it's things like nice lighting and attractive niches that'll make the difference to the overall result. I have no doubt that when the time comes I'll be scouring houzz and Pinterest for ideas and inspiration! @Wendy, thanks for your suggestion, we are open to the idea of a smaller bath if it would make for a better layout work but I have been trying to visualise what you mean... is the position of the "2m" high wall that you describe meant to be cutting straight through the main window? Surely I have got it wrong! I'm wondering if you meant shower on the left (external wall) as suggested by Jonathan? I liked Jonathan's suggested layout but the difficulty is that the wall between the small window and the far left corner is only 69 cm. In addition, the soil pipe is in the far left corner too so it would need boxing in, thus reducing the available floor space ifor a shower in that corner, My husband says he could box the soil pipe in and possibly create a useful ledge within the shower... and I have been thinking perhaps we could gain a bit of extra shoulder space by using a bow shaped/ curved door so perhaps all is not lost! So anyway folks, as you can see we are still dithering about whether we can have a separate shower or shower over the bath. We are still leaning towards the latter. If anyone has any thoughts on this they would be most welcome :)...See Morejustanotherdesigner
