I would also be interested in your responses I have an extremely ugly meter and consumer unit connected to the mains by a big black cable in my hallway!

I was hoping to find some sort of nice little cupboard/cabinet to fit over it which could incorporate some coat hooks underneath to make it look of more use but I've not found anything yet!

That's exactly what I would do, but consider having one custom made. It's probably going to cost less than you think and you have the benefit of choosing the exact format you require i.e number of shelves, whether you incorporate a cupboard or just have coat hooks and a place for wellies. It could me made from mdf and painted with Farrow and Ball paint or Fired Earth paints which will look fab. Reply here if you can't find anyone to do this for you, I might be able to help.

Sure, not too difficult as the pipes could be mostly hidden by the new feature. Or, build something larger and incorporate the radiator, like a kind of radiator cabinet.

Your best bet is to custom build a unit. I would suggest a 2 door unit with slatted doors to allow the heat to escape from the radiator. If you are on a budget will you please post the dimensions and I will see if there is an IKEA hack that might work for you. Width from wall to end of radiator. Depth from wall to the furthest out point of electric boxes. Height from floor to top of the highest electrical box. Depth from wall to the edge of the door. Thanks, Deirdre

As the hall doesn't have a great deal of length before the stairs start.. I would treat the two elements separately... Have a small box built to cover the electric box... MDF or something similar and paint to match the wall paint..

Then have a slim radiator cover fitted with slats.. which again is painted to blend with the hall wall colour..

Hang something lovely like a mirror or a piece of art and people will notice that... : ))

If you don't need storage in this area I would agree with AJ as it will give it a light airy feel. If you do need storage go for the two tall doors with storage hidden behind :)

I would just have a larger box with door made to accommodate the meters and have a shelf underneath them (as part of one unit) which could serve as a shelf for hats or storage boxes for gloves etc and under that, have a slimmer coat hook wood panel so that you can hang your coats etc without having to move your umbrella.

Ie like this bad drawing below I just did on my phone, ha ha ha.

It would look nice painted in a matt chalkboard type of paint and you could even paint the inside of the cupboard door in an actual chalk paint to write notes on (depends on how high it is!)

You could even have the hooks under the cupboard the full width but then just use the far left hooks over the heater for small items?
