Living room missing something
Comments (49)Tani I really love your cabinet it adds so much warmth to the room with the dark navy and I don't feel it clashes with your floor at all. I like your animal skin rug but perhaps a larger one in Tan and creamy white would help pull the woodwork, metal vase and floor together and give it nice balance. Not sure what colours you like but you could try some velvet or textured oranges with the navy as the tones are similar to the wood and then add some neutral beige or cream with it. Have you tried your mirror above your new cabinet it may help the balance with the TV one the opposite side. I feel a mantle peace will make a difference in white or antique white. Then add a canvas or painting that has all the tones you decide on in your room with some strong accent colours like the orange with the greens and yellows from your other rooms that will tie the two together. What ever you decide on I'm sure you will have fun. Take your time and good luck, most of all have some fun with it....See MoreSomething is not right in my new kitchen
Comments (87)Hi Laura, thanks for posting. Wow, it looks amazing! Amazing how much difference the floor, splashback and mirror make, it's transformed. Well done. I'm struggling to like a splashback in my new kitchen (even though I chose it) so was looking for inspiration - my partner just doesn't get it and will probably leave me if I even dare to mention changing it :-)...See MoreLounge Sofa Layout - Chesterfield
Comments (1)I would be a bit concerned about the depth of it from front to back as the room is only 14'6 deep and even less where the fireplace is. Why don't you compare this to other sofas you like. In terms of how it looks, Chesterfields are timeless and will look good with other timeless items. Not for someone who likes everything to 'match' though. Comments (23)Didn't realise the "voting" was one thing only - might explain why "baking" rates so highly as I don't doubt that others went for that first, thinking they could "vote" for others afterwards! Ddddduuuuuhhhhhh. Anyway, we live in the kitchen as it's always warm thanks to an approx. 60-year old solid fuel AgA (runs on anthracite). We sleep in the bedroom, ablute in either the bathroom or shower-room and don't retire to the drawing room until we've lit the multi-fuel stove in there and then enjoy a pre-dinner drink and after dinner TV before going to bed. It may sound a little stuffy or old-fashioned, but that's just too bad. We like it. Oh and I nearly forgot: the dining room is for when we entertain to dinner/lunch only and the study is for.... you guessed it: studying (well, storing books, desktop PC, and as a 3rd spare bedroom if truth be told)....See MoreAlenaCDesign
