Picture is not very clear but its probably a bit lighter than in picture as taken on my phone I have fallen in LOVE with F&B Wisteria wallpaper in the cinder rose background and I think it matches perfectly with the vert de terre which will be in the kitchen... Im thinking wallpaper back wall behind the long bit of the sofa and facing the chimney and then a lighter shade on the wall adjoining it where the short length of sofa will go... perhaps shaded white? I like elephants breath but I think this maybe too dark and this wall needs to reflect light into the room ... Then onto chimney brest and alcoves... There will be a stove in the opening and a tv on the brest above the stove ... do I also wallpaper the brest or the alcoves or do I apint one of these just in cinder rose or do I use the other 2 shades in the wallpaper!??! decisions decisions...

Hello clarefin, It's a good idea to have the fridge freezer where it is and you could box this in with "Slim" pullout larders either side if there is room.. Could you have a galley? I do like these as opposed to L or U shaped kitchens personally.. The fridge freezer could have a cabinet front for example with double height larders either side on the galley start as another option... You might also consider an island with cooking elements facing the french doors and the island could also morph into a dining table..So this could give you more room. I quite like the two doors and depending on where windows are I'd leave these, if you can still get a good run on the cabinetry and worktop... Consider materials you like, how you cook and move around the kitchen as this too will help you to define what you want out of the space.. Also the things... ! I find when designing kitchens that the what often dictates the where both spatially, architecturally and aesthetically... : ))

I agree with OnePlan above. If you could create a door there, you would gain the extra wall space where the entry is now and you could have another look at the kitchen design. Maybe the fridge/freezer could go on that wall? If you did change the door, I would change the peninsular too because you don't want to have to walk all the way around the peninsula to get into the kitchen but just walking immediately left and left again would not be a problem. I wouldn't have an undercounter fridge and freezer that someone suggests. We have a big fridge (fridge section above freezer section) and then an undercounter fridge (in a breakfast area) for condiments and drinks. It is amazing how much one uses the "main" fridge and imo it would be a pain to use an undercounter one twenty times a day. Others may disagree, of course.

I agree with Vicki, is there enough floor space to make the island deeper? Ours is made from standard units one side and shallow units the other then an overhang.  Loads of extra storage there. If storage really is an issue would you consider moving your ovens to be under counter then you would gain the tall unit as a larder unit.  We have a tall unit with pull out wire racks next to our tall fridge and freezer and is houses sooooooo much!
