Hi,
Love copper, it has been out of fashion for so long it i rarely specified but if you look at the London design market at the moment its making a comeback. I think its a really exciting material to work with.
Using copper in its flat form can work really well, you get all the reflective properties of a polished steel but the wonderful copper tones add warmth.
Also consider copper as a texture, if you have this as a key metallic through the house / apartment you can use it in various ways. Flat polished in the kitchen, textured wave form as a feature wall in the entrance hall, verdigris in the bedroom etc.

Comments (17)Wow, I had to make a cup of tea for this one. Orange and red are your two main colours here (copper, wood, worktops and red items) and yes, green or blue/green is the complementary, but there are a million options and they don't need to be saturated. At the moment the red and green are fighting for attention so the new wall colour needs to be 'quieter'. If you want to show the true beauty of the copper, then I would avoid strong colours and go for something moody. I would paint most of the walls a cool pale neutral and then go for one wall in a punchy edgy colour that complements the red without having a fist fight with it. It could be a cool neutral with Mouses Back (which looks fabulous with red). My favourite edgy colour is Little Greene 'Light Bronze Green" 123 which I have in my kitchen with Skimming Stone - see below (and image 2 with red picture). Comments (85)@pma - yes I thought about the silver side and although it looked better (guess because of all the silver in the room) it kind of drained the wall? Made it feel colder? Weird. I got a bronzed brass sample from the metal sheet company and before I painted the wall, you couldn’t really see all the colours in it (just looked black) Then after painting, all the bronze and colours popped out of it so I’m getting a price. Will be something we will have to save for as it will be super expensive ie probably over £600 so we are going to live with the painted wall for now and add the shelves etc then see what we think :0) Going to get some gold toned hanging lights as they might just lift that area without it being too much....See More- PRO10 years ago

PRO10 years agoAnother fan here. We recently used the Original Style Copper Leaf tiles (which are also used in Hampstead Design Hub's photo above), and they really lift what is otherwise quite a monotone scheme.

PRO10 years agoWe use copper on a range of our bespoke hospitality furniture. It is oxidised prior to sealing to prevent the formation of black copper oxide.
