I have chosen some light pendants to go over our kitchen island. They are a duck egg colour and I love them but now I'm not sure what colour to have our kitchen island and also what colour to paint the rest of the units.

Originally I was going to have a mint green colour for the island but I think that's a bit too similar to the duck egg in the pendants and won't look right (maybe a bit too green overall). The rest of the units I was going to have a taupe colour. I don't like anything too dark or too bright.

The island will have a light oak worktop and the rest of the units around the edges of the kitchen will have black granite. Our windows will be mid-dark grey.

Any advice please on colours for the island units and also the surrounding units? Something which would work well with the duck egg pendants and also with the different worktops. Thank you
