My kitchen/dining room has a step down half way across its width. A table that could be adjusted so that it is standard height from floor, both above and below the step, would be very useful - do such things exist?
I know that you can buy different height legs from the same ranges at many companies. You are better off buying height adjustable legs and then the table top that you like to fit to them. Ikea do a range of height adjustable legs and table tops.
From what you have said we think you need something kind of like the attached maybe? With a higher section that could sit above the step and still be at normal height. It will probably need to be custom made but would look fantastic and would be a real statement piece.
