What is your most valued kitchen appliance?
Some kitchen appliances are more of a necessity than others, a kettle, for instance, is one I think a lot of us couldn't do without! But other more luxury items, such as ice cream makers and similar appliances possess a different value that makes them win over the staples any day.

What's the most annoying thing your partner does?
Comments (29)Discussing new car, holidays, redecorating and then just doing what he wants. Why waste time asking my opinion when the decision is already made? Also gets take-away coffee every morning to drink at home. When finished, he picks up cup + leaves it beside the sink? He walks past the recycle bin ( where it belongs) + places on counter above rubbish bin. Dunno. It baffles me. Think I should have been a Time + Motion Officer or Productivity Manager or whatever they're called today. Comments (25)The lack of bench space, and I'm not sure which category of the poll that fits into. Layout maybe, since we'll need to move things around to make it work. Our kitchen is enormous, but it's all storage - one whole wall is floor to ceiling pantry-style cabinets. On the other all the stovetop and the sink take up a full half of the bench top, so there is just enough room for one chopping board and bowl on what's left when you are cooking. The crazy thing is, it's not even a tiny galley kitchen, but the space in between the two walls is only just big enough to squeeze an island in, so we are trying to decide between being cramped, or knocking down walls and completely remodelling. Can't quite bring ourselves to pull the trigger on the latter, though, as all the cabinets and cupboard are in great shape....See MoreWhat was your most recent home renovation project?
Comments (13)Just in the middle of plastering our bedroom in our 3 bed Vic terrace,most of the plaster fell off so most was bare brick. I've already done the other 2 bedrooms+ landing+ stairwell .We're currently sleeping in the living room. As soon as we've done this its the bathroom next. Comments (5)I do feel that sometimes, that a lot of "designers" attached to/associated with retailers don't necessarily listen and understand the needs or wants of the buyer, but are more about just fitting their product in the space - often irrespective if it's the best use of that space or the most pragmatic solution. I often think that if more people were to be brave enough to grasp the nettle and design their own kitchens (apologies to OnePlan!), those poor designers may up their game....See More

PRO9 years agoSteam combination oven. A leg of lamb steamed for 1-2 hours and then roasted for 40minutes. Life changing!

PRO9 years agoNot an appliance, but rather a utensil ... we love our square colander by Joseph Joseph; fantastic design and cheap. What is not mentioned is that if you have a double bowl sink the handle sits perfectly over the divider so that it is suspended - no soap suds contaminating pasta!
