Are you doing this as a refurb to sell on, or are you living in the house when finished? It sounds like a refurb, as you mentioned the estate agent. I'd have to disagree with her take on things. Most people I would have thought would ask about the windows, as energy bills are costly...........if they've got any sense. There are many companies out there that do reclaimed units, maybe consider having a look at some of those - here's a couple:- Reclaimed centre or used upvc windows and doors New windows however, with a guarantee are a selling point, so this is why i disagree with the estate agent.

Ok, definitely changed my mind. Put it over towards the bifold. Personally, I would say that the least pressing concern is what it would look like from the back garden looking towards the house. I suspect that you will spend 95%+ time indoors and will really appreciate the view from the hall in to the garden several times a day. The window also centralises between the kitchen units and bifolds so has a natural centre point here. Also, look at the structural engineer’s drawings. You should get an idea of where the beam across the bifolds goes to. ‘Anything’ is possible structurally but the cost may vary. The only person who will probably notice these things is you - trust me I’ve been there . You have a lovely space and it will look great wherever a picture window goes. I really wouldn’t go moving kitchen units to centralise things. The only reason I have noticed these things is because of the question you asked but would admire a picture window wherever you put it. You’re right, it encroaches on the kitchen units. Defo towards the bifolds if it isn’t too expensive structurally.

Don’t let it put you off though!!! A neighbour had a similar conversion to us and opted for 3 traditional windows instead of a triangular one like ours. Ours blends in more from the outside because the glass kind of fades into the roof tile (not explaining that very well - but ultimately when looking from the garden, you notice their windows more than ours). Also - theirs looks more normal inside too, whereas ours is quite a feature.
