Bathroom window
Hello wonderful Houzz-ers!
Question about my bathroom window. Original plan was to have shutters, but I can't have these installed as the bath taps get in the way of opening.
So Im left with either a white venetian blind or a window film for the bottom half. I need as much light in the bathroom whilst maintaining privacy from neighbouring gardens. The current blind was there before we moved in and although its sheer it still makes the bathroom dark when closed. What do you guys think and if you vote for window film- which one do you like?

Comments (23)I absolutely hate those trim pieces. When you are spending hundreds or thousands on tile to do a project and then finish it with these trim products it looks cheap and tacky. Plus when you are using a classic or vintage tile those shiny metal pieces or worse the cheap white plastic doesn't match. Just ruins the whole thing. I suspect builders like this kind of trim because it fast and easy to use and covers a multitude of sins. You don't have to be a particularly skilled tiler. Comments (6)Thank you for those suggestions. If I went down the wooden venetian blind option would you suggest I keep the wood colour or opt for a white/off white colour? Im just worried it might look too stark. I was in John Lewis today and looked at their waterproof roller blinds so I could opt for the window film on the bottom half of the window then the roller blind sitting recessed inside the window. Comments (5)I would try to get offcut pieces of quartz if possible. If it is not then white marble or granite or if your installer is an excellent cutter then you could get very large porcelain tiles 1200x900 and cut them to suit. Not sure of your dimesions though. Carolina if I went for Venetian blinds I would go for something similar to the ones in my dining room but not sure if that’s the type of blind you are referring to. I’ve attached a pic below. They are wooden with relatively wide bands.
8 years agoDid you see the picture of the bedroom I attached? I meant blinds like that, with really wide bands. They give a bit of a shutter-vibe ;-) Like this:
