Small bathroom, window bath/shower issue

I am buying this house with this bathroom that needs updating, I really want to keep a bath but have a shower head attached to wall so can use it for showers and baths. However with the window in the way I cannot see a way to do this. Any inspiration would be greatly appreciated. I haven't got the dimensions but as you can see, it's the toilet (standard size), regular bath, and a cupboard sink behind the bath, then it's a wall and door. So the space is limited and would like to do up on a low budget to start with. Thanks!

Could you move the bath to the position of the sink if there’s room? Turning the sink round to face outwards? You will get more comments if you draw a layout including positioning of the door along with measurements.

Hi Karen Previous comments state everything about the window but I would still consider the layout.I do not know details of the size of the room so it is only suggestion. I would change into a pocket door (losing internal space by few inches is not big deal), new wall wider with the smaller door opening. Quadrant shower enclosure attached to this wall. Ideally would be changing the window, smaller and higher window cill to accommodate WC pan and basin on shorter wall. Large towel warmer if you do not plan for UFH. If you going to install UFH than small rail with few hangers.

Our bath with over-bath shower is in the same position as you're proposing, i.e. under a window. The windowsill is tiled with a slight forward slope and we have a waterproof roller blind, inset within the window recess, both for privacy when showering and keeping water off the window. Like others have said, some form of window covering is needed to preserve modesty when showering when standing so relatively close to a window, even with 'privacy glass' in the window. All I do is give the blind a quick wipe over with a microfibre cloth to mop up any splashes before rolling it back up once I've donned my bathrobe robe! Our bathroom is approx. the same size as yours and having the bath/shower on the window wall does seem to be best layout.

Thanks everyone. I have decided to go for the layout suggested by John as I cannot move the toilet to the other side of the room. However I am going to keep the window in place as they are being replaced by UPVC and I think there is enough room to not have the shower too close to the window. Ive taped it it all out and walked through and it seems like it will work especially if I find a slimline cistern. Thanks everyone!!

The ideal would be to place the bath directly under the window and reposition the toilet but I suspect you don’t have enough space to do that. Sonia’s plan may be the only alternative but a rough plan and dimensions would help to provide better advice.

you may have to speak to a plumber but is there an option to move your taps to the opposite end? that way you could have it all going the other way i have mine that way and then i brought a shower rail that is screwed to the tiles in a L shape.

I'm just about to buy a hour with EXACTLY the same issue (and exactly the same floor plan!!!)
I have looked online at turning the bath around to go under the window & moving the toilet but it seems like quite a big job so I'm wondering if I could move the bath to immediately inside the door and the sink up near the toilet?!

You may be able to find a bath to fit the width of the space under the window and a plumber up for moving the loo but I'd consider how important a bath is to you. It would be shorter than standard whereas you may be able to fit a generous shower behind the door and have the basin under the window next to the loo.
