There are many designs similar on ebay if you type Victorian floor tiles, a vast array of patterns and styles will come up with some more ostentatious than others. Hope this helps.

You're welcome! This is an exciting project and I really hope you'll share the results, whatever you decide to do! I think metro tiles are the right way to go. You've already got pattern and bold colour covered so something more simple is probably right for the walls. Besides, it's a classic design. You could do it with a dark grout if you wanted to make a bolder statement. [This Houzz story[(https://www.houzz.co.uk/magazine/decorating-10-different-ways-to-use-classic-metro-tiles-stsetivw-vs~25104664) about metro tiles shows them mostly with dark grout and might help you visualise it. Marble would definitely work and look incredible. Just be careful to bear in mind the structure of the unit and how much weight it can hold. You have to consider the weight of the surface material, the sink, and the water it would have in it when full. Maybe even think about what you're going to fill the cupboards with and how heavy that could be. Perhaps it would be worth reinforcing the vanity in some way. Other than marble you could use tiles or just varnish the surface really well. All of these options will look great in different ways. Even though you're not DIY-ing it, take a look at this "how-to" to give you a better idea of the process. On top of the skirting? No way! I think that would look awful. Far too bulky in a sleek designed room. We have an ensuite which has the wall tiles sitting on top of the floor tiles to give the impression of more of a wet room effect. We also have a main bathroom and in here have the floor tiles cut to the size of the skirting that was originally in there height wise and then placed on top of the floor tiles So one room has nothing and the other room has the floor tiles up the wall as a skirting.

I wonder whether a darker wood effect tile would work on the floor? Darker wood seems to create a more classy feel whereas the pale wood tiles (which are nice) seem more beachy.
