Like everything yo pay your money and take your choice. Budget £2K fitting, £6k appliances, £4k quality worktops, £2K flooring and therefore you have £11k to spend on cabinets. Cheaper products (such as the ones mentioned earlier in the thread) likely have less cabinet options which means you end up accepting a tall slim door (to fill a gap) in the middle of horizontal lines of matching drawers, or you might not have a wide drawer unit available, or you may not be able to get a fold up door, limited cabinet choice sometimes means that your cant get a design that delivers your aspiration. When you pay more than entry level you are buying features that cost more to manufacture such as handleless systems, quality drawer inserts, lighting, and increased choice of door fronts. Having bought kitchens for many projects I think that you should be easily be able to get the look you want on your budget- let your kitchen showroom steer you towards their price group 1 and 2 doors rather than expensive veneers that will likely be out of budget and be upfront about your budget. I use Photoshop for these things :-) Your kitchen will be lovely! I really like the dark grey gloss and the white worktop. Do you know which parts will be tiled? And up to where? I'd go for the white tile. Just because it's a safe choice, it's bright and it does seem to work well with the countertop. You can always paint the walls a colour, hang art, put up shelves to display some nice kitchen things, place a couple of wooden chopping boards on the counter against a wall.. Under cabinet (LED) lighting can easily be installed afterwards. The difference in floors does matter, I think, especially if you tend to leave the door open a lot. So you'll have to make sure both floors work together or at least don't clash.

Some people are very sniffy about Ikea kitchens and imply they're of a cheap standard, but I have found the quality to be good and sturdy and certainly better than the Wickes kitchen I had the misfortune to encounter. Obviously, they can't compete with the likes of DeVol, but I would put them at the top in their price bracket. My mother had an Ikea kitchen installed in the late 80's and it was still going strong in 2010, when we replaced it to sell the house after her death. On the strength of that, when we re-did our kitchen last year, we didn't hesitate in getting Ikea for that. The savings we made on the cabinets, meant we could get high end appliances and Corian worktops. Our lovely kitchen fitter made some smashing bespoke touches - different plinths, tongue and groove side panels, matching bookcase etc to finish it off. You can even have a no obligation sit down with one of their designers in the Ikea store to plan it out. They are really good at making the most of your space - rather than a lot of others, who plan your kitchen according to how best their cabinets will fit rather than what you actually need.
