Hello Karen, I love your Kitchen, lovely cabinets! This Kitchen features Traditional Style (from what I see). I personally like the glass panel splash back but this wouldn't go with your cabinets. However tiles, such as metro tiles, mosaic or patterned tiles would perfectly suit the style you have. I chose these images as an inspiration for you. Tiles are one way to introduce some pops of colour in your kitchen. If you are worried about the grout discolouring, use epoxy grout which is more resilient to liquid staining. Also, if you use a coloured grout, discolouration will be less noticeable. If you choose textured tiles with rectilinear edges, grout lines are almost invisible. Using tiles can look more traditional compared to glass or stainless steel. The problem with stainless steel is keeping it looking good. Drip marks and grease are instantly noticeable. Glass is less obvious when splashed. They are both more industrial and modern looking. What about using the same material that makes up your worktop as the splashback? Most manufacturers of manmade worktops also do an 11mm thick splashback and upstand.

Hi Carolyn. I think your kitchen looks great, love the styling of the shelves. Does the "splashback "on the oven come off? If not, and may be wrong(!), I think a splashback might look a bit odd. If you were to do anything I might add a splashback all the way across that wall up to the bottom of the first shelves but it would be good to see a pic including the ceiling. Your kitchen to me seems all about texture so I would actually avoid any type of coloured glass but add more interest with texture. I don't think it's needed though I would just clear a couple of things off the worktop add some wild flowers (good faux if necessary) and a potted herb or 2

Just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who helped with ideas, and especially Jen for giving me a bit of inspiration and a light bulb moment! You are so right, holding your nerves whilst it’s going up is the hardest!! . I did opt for a splash back only and extended it so it goes a little under the cupboards. I’ve posted the finished pic below and hopefully going to accessorise with copper and wood to add warmth! A big hug and thanks to all x
